Easy to use interface combined with accurate performance and overall simple operation. Angled probe produces accurate response.
Internal battery has life span of about 5 years. Unit is heavy for its size– not as portable compared to handheld units.
An affordable entry-level pachymeter that performs accurately with fairly portable ergonomics. Heavier than necessary.
Among all instrument categories, pachymetry has become the most compact and portable ophthalmic device category in existence. In the course of 10 years, pachymetry has gone from a desktop unit to a device smaller than your cell phone. However, we’re not sure that’s all a good thing. While handheld pachs certainly have more power and are easier to hold, they’re almost too small and constantly seem in danger of falling off the table. Regardless, Pachymetry utilizes basic ultrasound technology that hasn’t evolved in correlation to its size. This 50mhz probe is enough to get the job done with basic pressure– and the software interprets it accurately.4/5
