Zildjian repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

End Use Segment

Avedis Zildjian Company, commonly known as Zildjian, is a privately held American musical-instrument manufacturer whose origins date to 1623, making it one of the world's oldest continuously operating family businesses. Zildjian is best known for its professional and consumer cymbals, particularly its A, A Custom, K, K Custom and related cymbal families, and describes itself as a leading global manufacturer of cymbals, drumsticks and percussion mallets. The company also owns the Vic Firth drumstick and Balter mallet brands and has expanded into electronic percussion and drummer-focused electronics such as the ALCHEM-E electronic drum system and headphones. Its reputation is especially associated with cymbal metallurgy, sound development and manufacturing expertise, supplying products for drum-set players, orchestral percussionists, marching musicians, educators and recording/performance professionals worldwide.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Cymbal Trigger Dropout

ALCHEM-E crash, ride, and hi-hat cymbals may intermittently stop registering hits or cut out during play. Cable loading, sensor connections, or faults within the cymbal's trigger electronics can cause partial or complete loss of triggering.

Hi-Hat Open/Close Detection Failure

ALCHEM-E hi-hats can intermittently fail to recognize open, closed, or transitional positions correctly. Frequent recalibration or adjustment of hi-hat control settings may be required to restore accurate response.

Incorrect Cymbal Zone Triggering

Ride, crash, and hi-hat cymbals may trigger the wrong bow, edge, or bell zone. Positional sensing, trigger calibration, firmware behavior, or sensor irregularities can cause incorrect zone detection and occasional double or missed triggering.

Cymbal Sensor/Pickup Failure

Gen16 and related electronic cymbal sensors can become weak, intermittent, electrically noisy, or completely nonfunctional. Failed pickup assemblies can result in very low output, humming, or no usable cymbal signal.

E-VAULT Module Triggering Faults

The ALCHEM-E E-VAULT module may initialize with incorrect or unstable trigger behavior, including missing cymbals, incorrect zones, or ghost triggers. Restarting, firmware updating, or recalibrating trigger parameters may temporarily or permanently correct the fault.

Digital Cymbal Processor Reboot Failure

Legacy Gen16 Digital Cymbal Processors have been reported to enter repeated reboot or power-cycle loops during operation. Firmware reflashing sometimes restores operation, while persistent cases may require replacement of the DCP.

Audio Output Loss or Distortion

Gen16 DCP units can develop missing main output, buzzing, distortion, or abnormal output levels while headphone output may remain functional. Firmware corruption, processor faults, or internal electronics failures can produce intermittent or permanent audio loss.

Electronic Cymbal Cracking

Earlier Gen16 cymbals, particularly the original silver-finish versions, can develop cracks around stressed areas after repeated playing. Reports attributed some early failures to the rigid surface coating reducing the cymbal's ability to flex normally.

Mesh Drumhead Premature Failure

ALCHEM-E mesh drumheads can wear, stretch, or tear under repeated use, causing inconsistent rebound and triggering. Some owners have reported replacing original heads earlier than expected when their tension or structural integrity deteriorated.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
