[Power / No-Power Failure]
Device will not power on, shuts down unexpectedly, or repeatedly restarts. Common hardware-related causes include degraded batteries, failed power-delivery components, power-supply faults, or thermal protection shutdowns.
Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.
Sony is a diversified Japanese technology and entertainment manufacturer best known for consumer electronics, gaming, imaging, and digital entertainment. Its hardware portfolio includes PlayStation gaming systems, televisions, digital and interchangeable-lens cameras, lenses, headphones, home audio equipment, professional broadcast/cinema equipment, image sensors and other semiconductor devices. Sony is particularly recognized for PlayStation, its Alpha camera line, premium audio/video products, and its position as a major supplier of CMOS image sensors used in electronic devices. Beyond hardware, the broader Sony Group operates substantial music, film, television, animation and gaming-content businesses, making it an unusually integrated electronics-and-entertainment company.
Device will not power on, shuts down unexpectedly, or repeatedly restarts. Common hardware-related causes include degraded batteries, failed power-delivery components, power-supply faults, or thermal protection shutdowns.
Battery runtime becomes unusually short, the battery fails to charge, or the device does not recognize an attached charger. Charging ports, batteries, cables, charging cases, and internal power-management components can contribute to the failure.
Device becomes excessively hot, displays a temperature warning, reduces functionality, or automatically shuts down. This is particularly visible during demanding workloads such as gaming, video recording, charging, or prolonged operation.
Screen produces no picture, abnormal images, flickering, intermittent output, or a blank/white display. Depending on the product, the fault can involve the display panel, internal display circuitry, connection path, or external video interface.
HDMI or another external connection produces no picture, no audio, intermittent operation, or fails to recognize an attached device. The problem can originate from the physical connector, cable/contact integrity, interface electronics, or connected hardware.
PlayStation and other optical-drive products may fail to read, accept, or eject discs. Symptoms include repeated read errors, discs becoming stuck, abnormal drive behavior, or complete loss of optical-drive functionality.
Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connections disconnect, become unstable, fail to pair, or stop recognizing previously connected devices. The symptom is common across connected Sony hardware including TVs, headphones, phones, and entertainment devices.
Audio becomes intermittent, unusually quiet, distorted, completely absent, or operates from only one headphone/earbud. On wireless headphones this can accompany charging, battery, connection, contamination, or individual earbud failures.
Sony cameras may report a malfunction or fail to operate correctly when the shutter, lens mechanism, or SteadyShot stabilization system develops a problem. Symptoms can include power-cycle error messages, inability to capture images, mechanical malfunction, or a camera requiring repair.
