Samsung Electronics is a South Korean multinational electronics and technology OEM and one of the world's largest manufacturers of consumer electronics and semiconductor components. Its Device eXperience business develops and manufactures Galaxy smartphones and tablets, TVs and displays, computers, network equipment, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and other connected appliances. Its Device Solutions business manufactures semiconductor products including DRAM, NAND flash memory, mobile processors and other system chips, while also providing semiconductor foundry manufacturing. Samsung is particularly known for its Galaxy mobile devices, TVs, memory semiconductors, advanced displays, and home appliances, and operates a large global manufacturing network spanning Asia and the United States.
Galaxy phones and tablets may develop substantially reduced runtime, rapid percentage drops, or unexpected shutdowns as the lithium-ion battery ages. Heavy usage, heat, weak network conditions, and repeated charge cycles can accelerate the symptoms.
Galaxy devices may charge intermittently, slowly, or not at all because of debris, moisture, corrosion, damaged cables, or wear at the USB charging port. A physically damaged port or deteriorated battery can eventually require hardware service.
Samsung TVs may power on and produce sound while displaying a completely or partially black picture. Persistent failures can originate in the display/panel or related internal hardware, although HDMI sources and cables should be ruled out first.
Samsung TV displays can develop persistent horizontal or vertical lines, colored dots, dark areas, or other picture abnormalities. If the defect remains visible during the TV's built-in Picture Test, the problem is associated with the TV rather than an external video source.
Samsung TVs may repeatedly turn themselves off, restart, or cycle between powered-on and powered-off states. External HDMI-CEC devices and power settings are common non-hardware causes, while persistent cases after isolation can require service.
Samsung refrigerators may stop producing ice, produce too little ice, or develop frost/ice accumulation around the ice-making system. Persistent freezing or failure can prevent normal ice production and require service.
Samsung refrigerators may fail to maintain the selected temperature, resulting in a warm refrigerator or freezer compartment. Door-seal problems, obstructed airflow and incorrect operating modes can mimic failure, while unresolved cooling problems require hardware diagnosis.
Samsung washing machines may leave water in the drum or stop before completing a cycle because the drain path is blocked or the drain pump is inoperative. Typical associated symptoms include 5E/5C drain errors, failure to spin, and a door that remains locked because water is still detected.
Some Samsung 980 PRO SSDs, particularly 2TB units running affected older firmware, were reported to experience rapidly deteriorating drive health and eventual read-only operation. Once the SSD enters this failure state, firmware updating does not restore normal write operation.
