[Intermittent Power Loss / Unexpected Shutdown]
The unit powers off, resets, or loses operation unexpectedly. Reported cases can involve the external power supply, power connector, or an improperly secured locking DC connector.
Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.
Audio AG is a German professional-audio company focused on the development, worldwide distribution, sales, support and service of specialized audio equipment under the RME and ALVA brands. Its product portfolio serves recording studios, live sound, broadcast, theater and fixed-installation applications and includes professional audio interfaces, AD/DA and format converters, microphone preamps, PCIe audio systems, network/MADI equipment, breakout hardware and professional audio cableware. Audio AG is particularly associated with RME, whose products are known for high-performance digital audio interfaces and conversion/networking technology; Audio AG operates the worldwide distribution network and provides product support and lifetime service for its brands.

The interface intermittently loses its USB connection, produces audio dropouts, or stops communicating with the host computer. Troubleshooting commonly isolates the USB cable, port, controller, or interface-side USB hardware.
Audio playback or recording develops intermittent gaps, clicks, or glitches, sometimes becoming embedded in recorded material. Clocking, host connectivity, and interface hardware are common areas investigated when diagnosing this symptom.
One or more analog outputs produce no signal, an incorrect signal, or unstable output. The fault can present as a channel-specific failure or as abnormal behavior affecting normal monitoring or playback.
The headphone output shuts down or reports an overload/short condition during operation. The protection circuitry disables the affected output when it detects electrical conditions outside its permitted range.
Left and right channels do not operate independently as expected, with output appearing centered, mono, or substantially different between channels. Diagnosis typically separates routing/configuration issues from an actual analog output-stage fault.
Digital audio becomes unstable or drops out because the interface cannot maintain proper synchronization with connected digital equipment. Symptoms can include clicks, glitches, intermittent signal loss, or clock-status errors.
MADI, AES, ADAT, Dante, or other digital I/O stops passing audio reliably or loses individual input/output paths. Failures may appear intermittently and require isolation of cables, clocking, host connectivity, and the interface hardware.
PCIe or externally housed interface hardware intermittently loses communication with the computer, causing driver resets, disappearing devices, or audio interruption. The fault can involve the card, expansion chassis, host connection, or associated interface electronics.
