Nintendo repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Nintendo is a Japanese interactive-entertainment OEM that develops, manufactures, and markets video game hardware and software. Its core products include the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 families of consoles, controllers and accessories, as well as first-party game software. Nintendo is particularly known for integrating proprietary gaming hardware with exclusive software and globally recognized franchises including Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Donkey Kong, Kirby, and Splatoon. In addition to dedicated gaming platforms, the company generates business from digital distribution, mobile applications, character merchandise, visual entertainment, and licensing of its intellectual property. Nintendo manages product design and development while relying substantially on third-party EMS partners for high-volume console manufacturing in Asian production facilities.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Joy-Con Analog Stick Drift

Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED controls can register movement without user input as the analog-stick sensing mechanism wears or becomes contaminated. Symptoms include characters or cursors moving by themselves and inaccurate directional input.

USB-C Charging Port Failure

Nintendo Switch models commonly develop worn, damaged, contaminated, or loose USB-C ports, causing intermittent charging, no charging, or failure to output video through the dock. Board-level charging circuitry can also fail and produce similar symptoms.

Optical Disc Drive / Laser Failure

GameCube and Wii optical drives can progressively lose the ability to recognize or reliably read game discs. Aging laser pickups, drive electronics, capacitors, motors, and mechanical components can produce "No Disc," read errors, clicking, or discs that stop loading.

DS / DS Lite Hinge and Housing Failure

Nintendo DS-series clamshell housings, particularly the DS Lite, can crack around the hinge or latch after repeated opening and closing. The damage can leave the upper display loose and may eventually place additional stress on display ribbon cables.

Battery Degradation / Charging Failure

Rechargeable batteries in Nintendo handhelds and controllers lose capacity with age and charge cycles, producing short runtime, unexpected shutdowns, or failure to hold a charge. Battery, connector, charging-adapter, or charging-circuit faults can sometimes produce nearly identical symptoms.

Cooling Fan / Overheating Failure

Switch-family and Wii cooling systems can accumulate dust or suffer aging or failed fans, reducing airflow through the console. Typical symptoms include unusually loud fans, excessive temperatures, thermal shutdowns, and overheating warnings.

Game Card / SD Card Reader Failure

Nintendo Switch game-card slots and microSD readers can stop reliably detecting inserted media because of damaged contacts, connectors, reader assemblies, or board connections. Users may see repeated read errors, disappearing storage, or messages stating that no game card is inserted.

3DS Circle Pad / Analog Control Failure

Nintendo 3DS-family Circle Pads can become physically worn, damaged, unresponsive, or develop inaccurate input over time. A failing joystick assembly can cause drifting, restricted movement, or directions that fail to register.

Wii Bluetooth / Wireless Module Failure

A failed or improperly connected Wii Bluetooth module can prevent normal system startup in addition to causing controller communication problems. Wi-Fi module faults can produce similar boot-related hardware symptoms.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
