VideoNet Communication Failure
The host PC cannot detect or communicate with the GlobeCaster chassis. Common hardware causes include bad or incorrectly connected VideoNet cables, a poorly seated VideoNet card, a faulty card, or PCI-slot conflicts.
Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.
GlobalStreams, Inc. is a U.S. video-production technology OEM best known for the GlobeCaster family of integrated production systems. The company developed hardware and software for professional live and on-demand video production, combining functions such as video switching/mixing, capture, editing, graphics/effects, character generation and streaming into integrated systems. Its products were designed for distributing video through broadcast, cable, satellite, Internet and recorded-media channels. GlobalStreams described its category as integrated/multifunction video production equipment, and its portfolio included GlobeCaster production systems, control surfaces, video/FX cards and associated software. USPTO The underlying technology has roots in Play Incorporated/Play Industries; GlobalStreams acquired and marketed technology including the Trinity/GlobeCaster platform, positioning the company in professional broadcast and streaming production.

An input channel displays a pink/green or otherwise invalid picture because its video path is not receiving a usable signal. GlobalStreams specifically identifies a faulty input module as a likely cause when the problem follows one input module across both Program and Preview.
Full-screen video or stored frames become corrupted or display the characteristic "gak" condition. GlobalStreams' troubleshooting procedure identifies the Framestore card when corruption remains on the full-screen path during its Warp Engine isolation test.
Warped video becomes corrupted while the corresponding full-screen video remains normal. GlobalStreams identifies the Warp Engine as the culprit when the failure follows the warped-video path during an effects test.
The system may fail to start, initialize, or establish VideoNet communication when the Coordinator card is faulty or improperly seated. Diagnostic LEDs can also indicate a Coordinator CPU crash or failed hardware initialization.
Video corruption appearing throughout the output path can originate in the Switcher or output module. Incorrect initialization, card faults, or loss of a usable video path can result in missing, black, or corrupted program output.
Framestore, Warp Engine, Switcher, ClipGrab, Time Machine, and TDM Audio Router boards can fail to initialize or become inaccessible on the main bus. GlobalStreams' diagnostics associate persistent initialization LEDs, failure to establish a bus address, or a yellow fault indication with board malfunction or an onboard CPU crash.
Audio may disappear from recording or playback paths when the audio board, control ribbon cable, routing, or physical connections fail. An incorrectly connected audio-subsystem ribbon cable can be severe enough to prevent the GlobeCaster chassis from powering up normally.
The DV module may not be recognized, may fail main-bus creation, or may produce pink, green, or scrambled video. GlobalStreams directs technicians to check card seating or a potentially bad slot and to verify the incoming DV signal and IEEE-1394 connection.
