GeoVision repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

GeoVision Inc., founded in Taiwan in 1998, is a security-technology OEM specializing in intelligent video surveillance and integrated physical-security systems. Its hardware portfolio includes IP surveillance cameras, DVR/NVR recording systems, video servers, PoE networking equipment, access-control devices, license-plate-recognition equipment, and related security hardware. GeoVision also develops its own video-management, AI video-analytics, cloud surveillance, facial-recognition, and central-monitoring software, allowing its hardware and software to operate as an integrated security platform. The company is particularly known for its GV-series professional surveillance products, IP cameras, DVR/NVR platforms, and internally developed video-management and analytics software, with products distributed internationally.

2 Most Seen Failures:

[PoE / Power Delivery Failure]

Camera fails to boot, repeatedly disconnects, reboots, or disappears from the network because of inadequate or unstable PoE power. Common causes include overloaded or defective PoE switches, incompatible PoE standards, cabling losses, and excessive device power demand.

[Firmware Corruption / Boot Loop]

Device becomes inaccessible, continuously reboots, or fails to initialize after a failed or interrupted firmware update. In severe cases the camera can no longer be discovered by GV-IP Device Utility and requires recovery, factory reset, or hardware service.

[Network Interface / Connectivity Failure]

Camera powers up but intermittently disconnects, cannot be discovered, or stops transmitting video over Ethernet. Symptoms can result from failed Ethernet interfaces, bad RJ45 connections or cabling, switch problems, or network congestion and may temporarily clear after a power cycle.

[Night-Vision / IR Image Failure]

Image quality deteriorates significantly when the camera switches to night mode, including excessive noise, blur, poor illumination, inconsistent IR range, or IR reflection. Dust, reflective surfaces, IR hardware behavior, and camera-specific low-light limitations are recurring contributors.

[Water / Moisture Ingress]

Outdoor bullet and vandal-proof cameras can develop image degradation, condensation, corrosion, or complete electronic failure when their enclosure or cable-entry waterproofing is compromised. Incorrect sealing after installation or servicing substantially increases the risk.

[MicroSD / Edge-Storage Failure]

Camera stops recording locally, reports an abnormal microSD condition, or loses recorded data because the card cannot be mounted, written to, or recycled correctly. Unsupported, degraded, improperly formatted, undersized, or improperly removed cards are common triggers.

Live video develops abnormal coloration, most notably a persistent pink or otherwise incorrect color image. The symptom can involve the camera's imaging/IR-cut path or associated camera processing rather than the recorder itself.

[Overheating / Thermal Instability]

Camera or associated hardware operates at unusually high internal temperature and may become unstable, particularly in IR-equipped models or demanding environmental conditions. Excessive heat can manifest as intermittent operation, resets, image problems, or shortened component life.

[Recorder Hard-Drive / Recording Failure]

GV DVR/NVR systems stop recording, lose accessible footage, or show damaged/missing video when storage becomes unavailable, full, corrupted, or is interrupted by an improper shutdown. Recorded-file and database corruption may require GeoVision's repair utilities, while physical HDD failure requires drive replacement.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
