GEEKOM is a privately held computer hardware manufacturer and brand specializing primarily in compact mini PCs. Its products use Intel and AMD processors and target consumer, office/business, education, content-creation, and light gaming applications. The company handles product design, development, manufacturing, and global sales, with technical/R&D operations in Shenzhen and Taiwan. GEEKOM is particularly known for high-performance, small-form-factor desktop computers designed as space- and energy-efficient alternatives to conventional tower PCs. Its portfolio has expanded beyond its core Mini PC business into laptops and AI-capable computing systems.
CPU temperatures can reach roughly 95–102°C under sustained load on some GEEKOM models, particularly higher-power IT-series configurations. Excessive heat can cause thermal throttling, reduced performance, instability, or shutdowns.
Some units abruptly lose power and subsequently fail to start, with owner reports describing burned components or PCB damage around the DC power-input circuitry. This pattern has been reported on models including the IT13/XT13 and GT12 Pro.
Cooling fans may run continuously, ramp unexpectedly at idle, or become very loud under load. Independent testing has measured several GEEKOM systems approaching or exceeding 50 dBA under sustained workloads.
Affected systems may unexpectedly freeze, restart, shut down, or become unstable during ordinary use or shortly after boot. Reports range from intermittent browser-related lockups to systems that crash within minutes of starting.
Wi-Fi may exhibit extremely low throughput, intermittent disconnections, or a wireless driver/module that stops functioning until the computer is rebooted. Driver updates do not resolve every reported case.
The integrated Bluetooth adapter may disappear, fail to connect or reconnect to devices, or stop functioning after software or driver changes. Some GEEKOM wireless modules have required updated drivers, while Bluetooth compatibility problems have also been documented under Linux.
An SSD or secondary SATA drive may fail, disappear from BIOS, or leave the computer unable to boot. GEEKOM also documents SATA ribbon-cable damage or poor connector contact as causes of drives becoming undetectable and, in severe cases, preventing power-on.
The computer may power on or illuminate its power LED but produce no video output and fail to complete POST. Reported symptoms include blank HDMI output, inability to reach BIOS, and systems becoming permanently unbootable after an unexpected shutdown.
The physical power button or associated power-on circuitry may stop responding, leaving the mini PC unable to start despite an apparently functional power source. Multiple owner reports describe early-life power-button or power-on failures requiring replacement units.
