FSR repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

FSR Inc. is a U.S. manufacturer founded in 1981 that designs and manufactures professional audio/video and information-technology infrastructure and signal-management products. Its portfolio includes floor, wall, table, and ceiling connectivity boxes; cable-management and raceway systems; charging and power products; HDBaseT and CAT-X signal-extension hardware; HDMI and video switchers; distribution amplifiers; control systems; matrix switchers; and collaboration-room connectivity solutions. The company primarily serves commercial AV/IT installations in corporate, education, hospitality, government, religious, healthcare, and related facilities, and is particularly known for architectural AV connectivity boxes and infrastructure products manufactured in Woodland Park, New Jersey.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Power Supply / Regulator Failure

Internal AC/DC supplies, external adapters, fuses, or board-level voltage regulators can fail, leaving FSR switchers, extenders, control systems, and distribution products completely dead or with missing status LEDs. Older PathFinder and ML-series documentation specifically includes power-supply and fuse troubleshooting or replacement procedures.

HDMI No-Output / Signal Failure

HDMI switchers, distribution amplifiers, and presentation systems can develop loss of video on one or more outputs despite a valid source being present. Failed HDMI receiver/transmitter circuitry, damaged ports, or signal-path components can produce intermittent video, color loss, or a permanent no-signal condition.

HDBaseT Link Failure

FSR HDBaseT transmitter/receiver products can lose their link, show a blinking or extinguished link indicator, or stop delivering video to the remote display. Besides cabling faults, failures of the HDBaseT PHY, PoH power circuitry, Ethernet magnetics, or associated board electronics can produce the same symptoms.

USB Port / Overcurrent Failure

USB extender and charging products can stop recognizing connected devices or supplying stable power. FSR documentation identifies overcurrent conditions as a troubleshooting category, while damaged USB power switches, protection components, connectors, or regulator circuitry can cause repeated disconnects or a completely dead port.

RS-232 / Control Interface Failure

FSR switchers, matrix routers, and control products may stop responding to serial commands even when their primary AV functions remain operational. After communication settings and wiring are ruled out, failure is commonly localized to the RS-232 transceiver, connector, control processor, or surrounding interface circuitry.

EDID / HDMI Handshake Failure

Digital-video products may power normally yet fail to establish a picture with particular displays or sources because EDID or HDCP negotiation no longer completes correctly. EEPROM corruption, damaged HDMI interface circuitry, or control-logic faults can cause persistent blank screens, unstable synchronization, or resolution-detection problems.

Audio Output Failure

FSR presentation switchers, matrix systems, amplifiers, and HDMI products with extracted analog audio can lose one or both audio channels while video continues to operate. Likely hardware causes include failed op-amps, DAC/output stages, muting circuitry, electrolytic capacitors, or damaged audio connectors.

Connector / Jack Wear or Damage

Frequently used HDMI, USB, RJ45, audio, and removable-terminal connections can become intermittent from repeated insertion, cable strain, or damaged solder joints. Symptoms include video dropouts, unstable network or HDBaseT links, intermittent charging, or operation that changes when the connector is moved.

Grounding / Surge-Damaged Signal Circuitry

FSR documentation notes grounding-related static, and permanently damaged units can result after electrical surges, ground-potential differences, or improper field wiring. Typical damage includes failed protection diodes, regulators, interface ICs, power components, or input/output stages, producing noise, loss of signal, or complete failure.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
