Fortinet repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Fortinet, Inc. is a cybersecurity OEM specializing in integrated networking and security products and services. Its flagship hardware platform is the FortiGate family of security appliances, which combines firewall and network-security capabilities and uses Fortinet's proprietary ASIC technology for hardware acceleration. Its broader Fortinet Security Fabric portfolio covers secure networking, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), and AI-driven security operations (SecOps), supported by FortiOS software and FortiGuard security services. Fortinet sells to enterprises, service providers, government organizations, and customers in sectors such as financial services, healthcare, retail, and operational technology. The company is particularly known for its FortiGate next-generation firewalls and for integrating networking and cybersecurity functions into a common platform.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Power Supply Unit (PSU) Failure

Internal or removable power supplies can fail or produce abnormal voltage, causing power alarms, shutdowns, failure to boot, or loss of redundancy. Fortinet documents failed-PSU detection and replacement across both single- and multi-PSU appliances.

Cooling Fan Failure

Cooling fans or fan trays can stop operating or run outside acceptable RPM ranges, producing hardware alarms and potentially causing overheating. Chassis systems may compensate by increasing the speed of remaining fans, but the failed fan assembly normally requires replacement.

SSD / Hard-Disk Failure

Internal SSDs, HDDs, or NVMe storage can develop I/O or SMART errors, become unavailable, or fail completely. Symptoms include log-disk errors, filesystem errors, lost logging capability, HA failover, boot problems, and eventual hardware replacement.

Flash / Boot Storage Failure

NAND flash or other boot storage can develop bad blocks, corruption, or become unreadable, preventing FortiOS from loading normally. A persistent inability to detect or access the boot device after recovery attempts can indicate failed flash hardware requiring RMA.

Ethernet Port / NIC Failure

Individual copper network interfaces can become physically defective and remain down despite known-good cables, peer devices, configuration, and loopback testing. Persistent failure isolated to one interface is treated as a potential NIC or port hardware defect.

PoE Controller / PSE Failure

PoE-capable FortiSwitch models can suffer failure of the PSE controller or associated circuitry, leaving individual or all PoE ports unable to supply power. Persistent controller communication errors after power cycling and PSU verification can indicate physical PSE hardware failure requiring replacement.

Thermal / Overheating Failure

Insufficient cooling, failed fans, airflow problems, or component faults can push internal temperatures beyond warning or critical thresholds. Severe thermal conditions can trigger alarms, maximum fan operation, instability, or protective shutdown behavior.

Memory / RAM Hardware Failure

Faulty system memory can produce errors detectable through Fortinet's hardware inspection tests and can contribute to abnormal or unstable appliance operation. Fortinet includes dedicated memory testing in its HQIP hardware diagnostic suite to distinguish component faults from ordinary resource exhaustion.

ASIC / NPU / PCI Hardware Failure

Fortinet appliances rely on specialized network processors, ASICs, and PCI-connected components that can develop hardware faults affecting packet processing or network interfaces. Fortinet's HQIP diagnostics specifically test NPU, ASIC, PCI, CPU, and network hardware when isolating failures that may require RMA.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
