Focusrite repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Focusrite Audio Engineering Limited is a UK audio-technology manufacturer and developer best known for professional and home-studio recording equipment. The company designs hardware and software in the UK while using contract manufacturing principally in Malaysia and China. Its core products include USB and Thunderbolt audio interfaces, microphone preamps, audio processors and related recording hardware, serving musicians, producers, content creators and professional recording facilities. Focusrite is particularly known for its Scarlett range of USB audio interfaces, which has become a major product family for home and project-studio recording. FAEL also encompasses products associated with Focusrite Pro, Novation and Ampify, giving the business a broader presence in professional recording, electronic music production, MIDI/controllers and music-making software.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Intermittent USB Disconnects / Device Not Recognized

Scarlett and other Focusrite USB interfaces can intermittently disconnect, fail to enumerate, or appear as “No Hardware Connected.” Reports commonly involve USB power delivery, loose/unstable connections, cables, host USB controllers, or driver/firmware interactions.

Clicks, Pops, Crackling, or Glitchy Audio

Users frequently report clicks, pops, crackling, robotic distortion, or brief audio glitches during playback or recording. Buffer settings, DPC latency, USB-controller behavior, drivers, and host-system load are common contributing factors.

Complete Audio Dropout Until Reconnection

Audio can suddenly stop even though the interface remains powered and its indicators continue operating. Unplugging and reconnecting the USB connection is frequently reported as temporarily restoring operation.

Insufficient or Unstable USB Power

Bus-powered models can flash their USB/gain indicators, repeatedly reconnect, fail to start correctly, or malfunction when the host cannot supply stable power. Focusrite specifically identifies insufficient USB power as a cause of persistent flashing and connection problems.

No Input / Intermittent Microphone Signal

Microphone or instrument inputs may produce no signal, unusually low levels, or intermittent detection. Reported causes span input configuration, gain or phantom-power problems, cabling, USB/driver issues, and occasional hardware faults.

No Headphone or Monitor Output

The interface may be detected and inputs may meter correctly while headphones or monitor outputs produce little or no audio. Routing/configuration problems are common, although failed output stages, connectors, or other hardware faults can produce similar symptoms.

Static, Buzz, or Continuous Digital Noise

Some units develop persistent static, buzzing, or harsh digital noise during operation, occasionally replacing normal playback completely. USB power quality, grounding, host hardware, drivers, and interface faults are recurring suspects.

Thunderbolt / USB-C Host Compatibility Failures

Clarett, Scarlett, and Clarett+ models can experience playback glitches, connection failures, or—in specific legacy Clarett Thunderbolt configurations—system crashes with incompatible host controllers. Focusrite documents incompatibilities with particular Thunderbolt controllers, computers, and USB-C/Thunderbolt configurations.

Phantom-Power / 48V Related Input Problems

Condenser microphones may exhibit no input, very low input, unstable operation, or apparent 48V problems when phantom power or available interface power is inadequate. Similar symptoms can also originate from defective XLR cables or microphones, so a 48V hardware failure should only be diagnosed after those components are excluded.

1 Acme Revival offers repair, service, and part rebuild opportunities for most Focusrite devices.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
