The company specializes in designing audio monitoring and recording equipment, particularly powered studio monitors, while its broader portfolio includes subwoofers, microphones, headphones, audio interfaces, speaker stands, and related studio accessories. Fluid Audio is especially associated with affordable, accuracy-focused nearfield monitors and coaxial/point-source speaker designs, including its FX series, while its higher-end Fluid Professional line targets critical listening, mastering, post-production, and immersive/Dolby Atmos environments. The company develops and markets its products from the U.S., with evidence indicating Chinese contract manufacturing.
Fluid Audio monitors with auto-standby can shut down or fail to wake reliably when the incoming signal is too low. This can cause missing audio, delayed playback, or repeated standby cycling during low-volume listening.
Some F-series owner reports describe a monitor suddenly producing no sound, sometimes after initially working normally for months or about a year. Symptoms can include no power indicator, a brief abnormal sound before failure, or one speaker in a pair becoming completely inactive.

Fluid Audio monitors and the SRI-2 can exhibit a powered-but-no-sound condition. Reported causes include input/output selection problems, USB incompatibility, connection faults, standby behavior, and hardware failure.
Crackling, clipping, or otherwise distorted playback is a recurring troubleshooting symptom, particularly with the SRI-2 and powered monitors. Causes can include excessive input level, low audio-buffer settings, faulty cables, USB issues, or amplification faults.
The SRI-2 volume potentiometer has owner reports of developing audible rustling or crackling when turned, sometimes becoming substantially worse with age. Similar criticism has been reported for the front level control on F-series monitors.
The SRI-2 can fail to operate correctly with certain USB 3.0 controllers or during driver installation. Fluid Audio specifically warns that some Texas Instruments, Etron, Fresco Logic, and ASMedia USB controllers can produce no sound or static noise.
Some SRI-2 users report audio inputs or microphones intermittently disconnecting or becoming unavailable in particular applications. USB connectivity, host compatibility, drivers, and software configuration can contribute to this behavior.
Auto-standby-equipped monitors may take a short period to wake after detecting a new signal, causing the beginning of playback to be missed. Owners of FX-series monitors specifically report a brief interval with no sound when the speaker first wakes.
