[Unit Fails to Power On]
The hardware shows no power or front-panel power indication. Common points implicated in troubleshooting are the external power supply, locking power connector, AC source, or power-switch state.
Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.
Flock Audio Inc. is a professional-audio electronics manufacturer specializing in digitally controlled analog signal-routing and hardware-management systems for recording studios, audio engineers, broadcasters, post-production facilities, and other professional audio environments. Founded in 2017, the company is best known for its PATCH Series, which combines a 100% analog audio signal path with computer/software-controlled routing, allowing users to connect, route, store, and recall configurations of outboard audio equipment without traditional manual patch-cable workflows. Its product family includes PATCH LT, PATCH, PATCH VT, PATCH XT and newer PATCH variants, along with related routing/control products and software. Flock Audio's core differentiation is its patented matrix technology and integration of analog audio routing with digital workflow control, while avoiding A/D or D/A conversion in the signal path.
The hardware shows no power or front-panel power indication. Common points implicated in troubleshooting are the external power supply, locking power connector, AC source, or power-switch state.
The PATCH hardware stops communicating with its computer controller, typically accompanied by an incorrect, flashing, or absent Host Signal indication. USB cabling, the host connection, unit assignment, or a hardware/app reset may be required to restore communication.
A connected microphone or phantom-powered device does not receive the expected 48V supply. The failure can involve phantom-power enablement, channel assignment, master bypass settings, or the associated power/connection path.
The hardware unexpectedly shuts down or restarts while operating. Flock identifies excessive internal temperature and activation of the unit's thermal failsafe as a cause, particularly when airflow is restricted or the unit is installed near heat-producing equipment.
Audio cannot be passed through the unit's front-panel I/O even though the main system is operating. Front/rear I/O switching, software toggle state, or multi-unit front-I/O configuration can leave these connections apparently inactive.
Users can encounter a noticeably increased noise floor, particularly with low-level microphones connected directly to PATCH hardware. Because the PATCH Series is principally a +4 dBu line-level system, insufficient source level can result in audible hiss and poor signal-to-noise performance.
Audible pops or clicks can occur while rearranging active routing paths during audio playback. Flock documents this behavior on PATCH VT and PATCH XT and notes that its occurrence depends on the audio signal present when the routing changes.
The unit can enter a state in which routing or hardware behavior no longer responds as expected. Flock's troubleshooting procedure calls for backing up configurations, restoring factory defaults, power-cycling the hardware, and reinstalling the controlling application when this occurs.
Loss or instability of the external power path can prevent normal operation even when the PATCH chassis itself is otherwise functional. Several PATCH-family models use dedicated external supplies and locking multi-pin connectors, and Flock sells model-specific replacement power supplies for PATCH, PATCH LT, and CX hardware.
