Flanders Scientific repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Flanders Scientific is a professional video-display OEM founded in 2005 that specializes in reference monitors and color-critical display solutions for film/television production, post-production, broadcast, quality control, and content creation. Its product portfolio centers on professional monitoring displays, including DM-series production/reference monitors and XMP-series HDR mastering displays, along with calibration and monitoring accessories. FSI is particularly associated with high-accuracy color reproduction, factory calibration, HDR monitoring/mastering, custom FPGA-based video processing, integrated scopes and measurement tools, and its Gaia Color AutoCal calibration technology. Its higher-end XMP displays are designed for professional HDR content creation and review, with qualifying models serving as Dolby Vision mastering monitors. FSI became part of Atomos in April 2026, while continuing to operate under the Flanders Scientific brand. Flanders Scientific

2 Most Seen Failures:

OLED Image Retention / Burn-In

OLED-equipped FSI monitors can develop temporary image retention or permanent burn-in after prolonged display of static, high-contrast content, particularly in HDR. XMP/XMP C models include Clear Panel Noise, panel dimming, and newer Pixel Shift functions specifically to reduce this risk.

Black Screen / No Image

DM-series monitors have documented black-screen and no-image states, including conditions caused by interrupted or incorrect AutoCal procedures and Fast Mode behavior. Some firmware versions added dedicated recovery/bypass functionality to recover monitors from these states.

SDI / Video Signal Detection Failure

FSI monitors can intermittently report No Signal, fail to lock correctly, or display an incorrect image when signal-format detection or processing fails. Documented issues include AutoCal No Signal interruptions, PsF artifacts, 3G-format problems, and signal-format/payload incompatibilities.

Ethernet / Network Connectivity Failure

Multiple AM, BM, DM, and BoxIO models have experienced Ethernet or network connectivity problems. FSI firmware releases specifically corrected connection bugs affecting AM211P, BM211/BM241/BM420/BM550, DM170/DM240/DM241/DM250, and older BoxIO units.

Calibration / AutoCal Corruption or Failure

AutoCal can fail or leave incorrect calibration data when the process is interrupted, a probe is improperly positioned, or a signal interruption occurs. Symptoms can include a black screen, incorrect luminance or color, slow data saving, and other abnormal monitor states.

Incorrect Luminance / Color Output

Some FSI models and firmware revisions have produced incorrect brightness, white balance, gamma, or color output. Documented examples include intermittent excessive brightness at boot, luminance errors after power cycling, DM160 white-balance shifts, and incorrect log-mode behavior.

Screen Flashing / Intermittent Image Artifacts

Intermittent flashing, visual artifacts, and unstable images have occurred on several FSI monitor generations. Documented examples include DM242 shutdown flashing, XM310K flashing with no signal, DM160 PsF artifacts, and processing-related vertical-line artifacts.

Slow Boot / Startup Failure

Some FSI monitors can exhibit unusually long startup times or abnormal startup behavior. FSI documented DM-series boot times of up to roughly 40 seconds under a specific LAN-connected condition, while other firmware-related states can interfere with normal startup or operation.

LUT / Profile Storage and Recall Failure

FSI monitors have experienced failures in which LUTs, color-management selections, or profile settings do not save, activate, or recall correctly. Firmware fixes have addressed Look LUT retention, user cLUT profile recall, DIT LUT activation, and related non-volatile-memory behavior.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
