Felix Storch repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Felix Storch, Inc. (FSI) is a privately held U.S. appliance manufacturer and distributor founded in 1969, specializing in niche refrigeration, cooking, warming, and other major appliances for residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, laboratory, pharmaceutical, and foodservice applications. Its best-known division is Summit Appliance, which has a particularly large range of compact, built-in, undercounter, and ADA-compliant refrigerators, freezers, ranges, cooktops, ovens, wine cellars, and beverage appliances. Its Accucold division focuses on medical, vaccine, laboratory, and pharmaceutical refrigeration, while PureTherm produces warming cabinets and Summit Commercial serves foodservice applications. FSI combines domestic manufacturing and stainless-steel fabrication with globally sourced finished or semi-finished products that it modifies and customizes at its U.S. facilities; it is especially known for unusual appliance dimensions, ADA-compatible products, medical cold storage, and low-volume/customized specialty appliance manufacturing.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Cooling System / Sealed-System Failure

Refrigerators, freezers, and wine coolers may run continuously while failing to reach temperature because of refrigerant leakage, a restricted capillary tube, or another sealed-system fault. A compressor running with little or no evaporator frost is a characteristic symptom.

Temperature Sensor / Thermistor Failure

Temperature sensors can become open-circuit, short-circuit, or provide inaccurate readings, causing incorrect cabinet temperatures or preventing compressor operation. Accucold controllers may display sensor-related faults such as “So,” “SC,” P1, or P2.

Thermostat / Temperature Control Failure

A defective mechanical thermostat or electronic temperature controller can cause the cabinet to become excessively cold, remain too warm, or make the compressor run continuously. Control feeler-tube faults are also documented on some commercial refrigeration models.

Compressor Start Relay / Compressor Failure

A failed start relay, overload device, wiring fault, or compressor can result in a unit that has power but will not begin its refrigeration cycle. Repeated clicking, humming without successful startup, or a completely inactive compressor are common associated symptoms.

Door Gasket / Door Sealing Failure

Worn, dirty, distorted, or improperly aligned door gaskets allow warm humid air into the cabinet. The resulting symptoms include excessive compressor runtime, unstable temperatures, condensation, frost buildup, and reduced cooling efficiency.

Evaporator Frost / Defrost System Problems

Ice can accumulate on evaporator surfaces or interior walls when defrosting is inadequate or a manual-defrost unit is allowed to accumulate excessive frost. Heavy icing restricts airflow and can eventually cause rising cabinet temperatures despite continued compressor operation.

Condenser Ventilation / Heat Dissipation Failure

Blocked airflow, dirty condenser surfaces, insufficient installation clearance, or condenser-fan problems can prevent the refrigeration system from rejecting heat. Units commonly respond by running excessively and developing elevated interior temperatures.

Power Supply / Internal Electrical Failure

Failed wiring, loose connections, blown protection devices, low supply voltage, defective relays, or damaged electrical components can cause intermittent operation or complete loss of function. Felix Storch documentation repeatedly identifies electrical supply and internal wiring issues when a unit fails to start.

Abnormal Fan / Mechanical Noise Failure

Evaporator or condenser fan problems, loose components, vibrating refrigeration lines, or compressor mounting issues can produce rattling, buzzing, grinding, or excessive vibration. Fan-related faults can also reduce internal airflow and indirectly cause poor or uneven cooling.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
