Evertz repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Evertz Microsystems is a Canadian electronics and technology OEM specializing in professional broadcast, media-production, and video/audio infrastructure. The company designs and manufactures hardware and develops software used to create, route, process, monitor, manage, transport, and distribute professional video and audio content. Its portfolio includes broadcast routers, IP media gateways and switches, multiviewers, signal-processing and conversion equipment, encoders/decoders, fiber-optic transport equipment, timing and synchronization systems, RF products, production/replay systems, audio consoles, control and monitoring platforms, and cloud/software-defined media solutions. Evertz is particularly known for large-scale broadcast infrastructure and end-to-end media workflows supporting live television, sports production, UHD/4K/8K, HDR, IP-based production and content distribution. Its customers span broadcasters and media companies as well as telecom providers, sports organizations, professional AV, government, defense, education and enterprise users. Evertz

2 Most Seen Failures:

Power Supply Failure

A power supply stops producing the required voltage, causing a PSU/frame fault and potentially loss of operation where redundant power is unavailable. Evertz documentation for multiple frame families specifically provides for failed power-supply replacement.

Cooling Fan Failure

A PSU, frame, or module cooling fan stops or becomes disconnected, triggering a fan fault and reducing cooling capacity. Continued operation with inadequate airflow can contribute to excessive internal temperature.

Overtemperature / Thermal Fault

Internal temperature exceeds the hardware's permitted or configured operating threshold, commonly associated with fan failure, blocked ventilation, missing cooling modules, or excessive ambient temperature. Some Evertz modules generate dedicated temperature fault alarms.

Video Input / Output Loss

An expected SDI, ASI, optical, or other video signal disappears, resulting in a video-loss alarm or absent output. Causes can include upstream signal loss, cabling/connectors, failed interfaces, or faults in the signal-processing path.

SFP / Optical Link Failure

An optical transceiver loses its link, reports low receive power, stops communicating with the host module, or develops a laser fault. Evertz hardware can report conditions including SFP communication errors, low optical receive power, incorrect SFP type, and link loss.

Audio Signal Loss

Embedded or discrete audio expected by the device disappears while the associated video or transport path may remain operational. Several Evertz products provide explicit audio-loss detection and configurable fault timing.

SDI / ASI Data Integrity Errors

The transport signal remains present but develops CRC, sequence-count, continuity-count, synchronization, or related data errors. Evertz gateways explicitly monitor these errors because they can produce intermittent or corrupted video despite an apparently active link.

Reference / Genlock Failure

The device loses an expected frequency, timing, or video reference and can no longer maintain its intended synchronization state. Evertz timing equipment identifies missing frequency/time references as system faults, while frames and processing hardware rely on reference inputs for synchronized operation.

Firmware Load / Boot Failure

A failed, interrupted, invalid, or incompatible firmware load can leave a card or system unable to boot or operate normally. Evertz warns on some platforms that recovery from an invalid firmware load may require returning the hardware to the factory.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
