Thread/Matter Connectivity Drops
Eve devices become unreachable or show “No Response” despite other smart-home devices remaining connected. Power cycling, resetting, or rebuilding the Thread connection may temporarily restore operation.
Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.
Eve Systems GmbH is a German smart-home device company specializing in connected residential products designed around privacy, interoperability, and local control. Its portfolio includes smart plugs and energy monitors, radiator thermostats, environmental and weather sensors, door/window and motion sensors, lighting controls, water controllers, and related home-automation devices. Eve was particularly known for its Apple HomeKit ecosystem and became an early adopter of Thread and Matter smart-home standards, allowing newer devices to operate across major smart-home platforms. ABB acquired Eve Systems in 2023 and incorporated the business into its Electrification portfolio.

Devices fail to join HomeKit/Matter after a reset, firmware upgrade, battery replacement, or removal from the home. Some units remain visible on the network but repeatedly fail during commissioning.
Eve Energy plugs can indicate that they have switched off while continuing to supply power to the connected load. Reports point to the internal mechanical relay sticking or eventually failing.
Eve Cam and especially Eve Outdoor Cam can repeatedly disconnect from Wi-Fi, interrupting live viewing and recording. Some installations exhibit the problem despite otherwise strong and stable Wi-Fi coverage.
Eve Motion units can freeze, become stuck in a motion state, stop updating occupancy/lux values, or cease triggering automations. Removing the batteries or resetting the sensor is commonly reported as a temporary recovery method.
Eve Door & Window sensors can report false open/closed transitions, remain stuck in one state, or stop reporting completely. Battery replacement may temporarily resolve the behavior, but some reports describe recurrence requiring replacement of the sensor.
Eve Thermo units can fail calibration because the actuator cannot move the radiator valve, or incorrectly leave a radiator heating when the device reports the valve as closed. Motor/actuator problems and valve-fit/calibration issues produce similar symptoms.
Eve Aqua units can develop leaks around or inside the valve assembly as seals and gaskets deteriorate. More severe failures allow water to continue flowing even when the controller reports that watering is off.
Battery-powered Eve sensors can become unreachable without providing an accurate low-battery warning, while the Eve app may continue reporting apparently adequate battery charge. Eve Weather and Door & Window owners have reported devices recovering immediately after battery replacement despite the prior battery status appearing normal.
