EVE Audio GmbH is a Berlin-based, owner-operated professional audio manufacturer founded in 2011 by Roland Stenz, previously a founder and managing director of ADAM Audio. The company develops and manufactures active studio monitors and subwoofers aimed primarily at recording, mixing, mastering, production, home-studio, education/research, and installation applications. EVE Audio is particularly known for its proprietary Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeters, DSP-based filtering, active amplification, fiberglass/metal-cone drivers, and precision-oriented monitor designs. Its range spans compact nearfield monitors through midfield and large main-monitor systems and subwoofers. Electrolytic capacitors in the internal power supply degrade or fail, causing the monitor to stop producing audio, remain in standby, or behave erratically during startup. Failed PSU capacitors are repeatedly reported on SC205 and SC207 units and can be accompanied by abnormal LED activity or static noise.
The internal amplifier module fails even though the speaker may still show power or illuminated LEDs. Affected monitors can become completely silent, produce abnormal noise, or require replacement of the entire amplifier module.
The monitor suddenly generates loud static, sweeping white noise, screeching, or repeating electronic tones, sometimes even with the audio input disconnected. This symptom is commonly associated with deteriorating power-supply, amplifier, or control electronics.
Audio output becomes intermittent or disappears entirely while the monitor otherwise appears powered. Some units initially recover after restarting or warming up before eventually losing output permanently.
The front SMART-knob and DSP controls become unresponsive or freeze during operation. Power-cycling the monitor may temporarily restore control, but recurring freezes can indicate a developing DSP or controller-electronics fault.
The monitor fails to complete its normal startup sequence, with LEDs continuously flashing, cycling incorrectly, or remaining in an abnormal state while no audio is produced. Some affected units boot successfully only intermittently before the fault becomes permanent.
The monitor powers on but produces no audio for several minutes, often accompanied by flashing LEDs. Audio may suddenly return with an audible pop after the electronics warm up, and reports indicate the delay can progressively worsen.
Adhesive used around internal electronic components can deteriorate and become conductive or corrosive over time. This can damage components or PCB traces and contribute to amplifier, power-supply, and noise-related failures.
An electronics malfunction can produce severe noise or abnormal output capable of leaving the tweeter or another driver nonfunctional. Driver failure appears less frequently than power/amplifier faults but has been reported following catastrophic electronic malfunction.
