Ericsson Cradlepoint repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions, Inc., formerly Cradlepoint, is Ericsson's enterprise wireless networking business specializing in secure, cellular-centric connectivity for businesses, government agencies, transportation, public safety, retail, healthcare, and other distributed organizations. It develops 4G/LTE and 5G routers, cellular adapters, vehicle and IoT routers, radios, private 5G infrastructure, indoor/neutral-host 5G systems, and cloud-managed networking and security software. Its portfolio centers on Wireless WAN, private cellular networks, Enterprise 5G, and 5G-optimized SASE/security, with devices managed through Ericsson/Cradlepoint's NetCloud platform. The company is particularly known for enterprise-grade cellular routers and Wireless WAN solutions that use LTE and 5G as primary, failover, mobile, or IoT connectivity.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Cellular Modem Failure

The embedded or removable cellular modem stops operating, disappears from the router, or can no longer establish cellular service. Ericsson documentation records modem instability progressing to failure and cases where a modem is no longer detected after firmware operations.

Modem Firmware Corruption / Unrecoverable Modem

The cellular module becomes corrupted or permanently unresponsive, particularly when power is interrupted during a modem firmware update. Ericsson explicitly warns that interrupted module updates can produce corruption that is not recoverable.

SIM / SIM-Slot Detection Failure

The router fails to detect a SIM or incorrectly detects the SIM-slot or SIM-door state, preventing the cellular modem from operating. Documented cases include modems being prevented from powering on and SIM configurations causing modem-stack crashes or continuous router reboots.

Power Input / Power-System Failure

The router fails to power on, unexpectedly loses power, or repeatedly resets because the power input, adapter, connector, or internal power circuitry is no longer providing stable power. Loss of power can also compound failures by corrupting a cellular module during firmware programming.

Ethernet Port / LAN Interface Failure

One or more wired Ethernet interfaces stop establishing or maintaining a usable network connection despite the router remaining powered. Symptoms include an unreachable LAN, persistent Ethernet disconnections, or a port that no longer passes traffic after normal cabling and configuration causes are eliminated.

Cellular RF / Antenna-Path Failure

The modem remains present but cellular reception becomes abnormally weak or unusable because of an antenna, connector, cable, or RF-path problem. Typical symptoms are persistent loss of cellular connectivity, severely degraded signal measurements, or inability to register despite a known-good SIM and adequate carrier coverage.

Thermal / Overheating Failure

Excessive internal temperature causes degraded performance, instability, resets, or eventual component failure. Ericsson installation guidance specifically requires adequate ventilation and warns that enclosed spaces, direct sunlight, and extreme temperatures can adversely affect router and access-point operation.

Wi-Fi Radio Failure

The Wi-Fi subsystem fails to initialize, remains stuck starting, or stops providing or receiving wireless connectivity while other router functions continue operating. Ericsson has documented Wi-Fi radios becoming stuck in states such as “Radio Starting,” while its access-point guidance emphasizes environmental conditions needed for reliable radio operation.

System Board / Boot Failure

The endpoint repeatedly reboots, locks up, or fails to complete normal startup even after external power, configuration, and attached peripherals are eliminated as causes. Persistent failures of this type that survive recovery or factory-reset procedures can indicate defective main-board, storage, memory, or other internal hardware requiring replacement.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
