ENTTEC repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

ENTTEC is an Australian designer and manufacturer of professional LED lighting, pixel-control, and DMX/networked lighting-control systems, founded in Melbourne in 1999. The company develops the electronics, firmware, software, controllers, gateways, and LED fixtures that form complete lighting-control ecosystems and also provides OEM/contract-manufacturing services including electronic and mechanical design, PCB assembly, certification support, component sourcing, testing, and finished-product assembly. ENTTEC is particularly known for its DMX USB Pro, DMX-over-Ethernet products, S-Play controllers, ELM (ENTTEC LED Mapper) software, and integrated LED pixel-control systems. Unlike many lighting suppliers that source white-label hardware, ENTTEC emphasizes vertically integrated design and manufacturing, with its own electronics and firmware and substantial in-house production at its Australian operation.

2 Most Seen Failures:

[USB Device Not Detected]

DMX USB Pro, DMX USB Pro Mk2, and Open DMX USB units may disappear from or fail to be recognized by the host computer. Common causes include FTDI driver conflicts, USB cable/port problems, another application holding the device, or a device/firmware fault.

[Firmware / Error Mode Failure]

DMX USB Pro and Pro Mk2 units can become unresponsive or enter error mode, indicated on affected models by a solid status LED. Firmware corruption or driver/communication problems can require the unit to be reflashed or restored.

[No DMX Output]

ENTTEC interfaces and nodes may appear powered and connected while producing no usable DMX output. Typical causes include output-port faults, incorrect configuration, cabling problems, firmware state, or failure of the downstream DMX signal path.

[DMX Flicker / Unstable Output]

Fixtures connected to ENTTEC hardware can flicker, glitch, freeze, or behave intermittently when the DMX signal becomes unreliable. Frequent causes include poor or excessive cabling, missing termination, incompatible DMX/RDM timing, excessive chain length, or multiple conflicting data sources.

[Ethernet Device Not Discoverable]

ODE, Pixelator, OCTO, S-PLAY, and other networked ENTTEC hardware can become unreachable or fail to appear in discovery tools. Incorrect IP/subnet settings, IP conflicts, DHCP problems, cabling/switch faults, or corrupted/stale network configuration are common causes.

[Web Interface Unresponsive]

Networked ENTTEC products can have a web interface that fails to load, loads partially, or no longer accepts configuration changes. Network faults, browser/cache issues, firmware/update state, firewall restrictions, or device configuration corruption can produce this symptom.

[PoE / Power-Up Failure]

PoE-capable ENTTEC hardware may fail to boot or establish a network connection when the power source, cable, termination, or PoE negotiation is unsuitable. Incorrect supply conditions can also result in electrical damage or persistent power-related failure.

[Pixel Output Flicker / Data Corruption]

OCTO, Pixelator, and related pixel-control systems can produce random colours, flickering sections, frozen pixels, or corrupted output. Common causes include excessive SPI cable length, EMI, poor grounding, noisy power, incorrect pixel protocol, shorts, or conflicting network data.

[Pixel Voltage-Drop / Output Failure]

Pixel installations driven by ENTTEC controllers can dim, shift toward red/pink, flicker, or stop operating toward the end of a run as supply voltage falls. Insufficient conductor size, long runs, inadequate power injection, excessive load, or missing common ground are frequent causes.

1 Acme Revival offers repair, service, and part rebuild opportunities for most ENTTEC devices.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
