Emotiva repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Emotiva Audio Corporation is a U.S. high-performance audio manufacturer focused primarily on audiophile stereo and home-theater electronics. Its lineup includes multichannel and stereo power amplifiers, preamplifiers/processors, integrated amplifiers and receivers, DACs, speakers, subwoofers, and related audio components. Emotiva is particularly known for its XPA-series modular power amplifiers and for using a direct-to-consumer business model intended to provide high-output, enthusiast-grade equipment at prices below many traditional high-end audio brands. The company designs its products in Tennessee; a significant portion of its premium electronics is assembled and tested at its Franklin production facility using globally sourced components, while other products are produced through manufacturing partners overseas.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Amplifier Enters Protection Mode

XPA and BasX power amplifiers may shut down, illuminate protection indicators, or refuse to pass audio because of output-stage faults, excessive DC, overheating, shorted loads, or power-supply problems. Persistent protection with speakers disconnected commonly indicates an internal amplifier fault.

One or More Amplifier Channels Dead

Individual channels can stop producing audio while the remaining channels continue operating normally. Reported cases include XPA and BasX multichannel amplifiers developing one failed channel followed by additional channel failures over time.

Channel Crackling, Hissing, or Popping

A failing amplifier channel may produce intermittent static, crackling, popping, or loud noise that worsens during warm-up or eventually precedes complete channel failure. Output-stage components, bias circuitry, capacitors, or associated driver circuitry can be responsible.

HDMI Handshake and Signal-Lock Failure

XMC and RMC processors are frequently reported to lose HDMI synchronization, fail to lock onto a source, drop video or audio, or negotiate the wrong resolution. Problems may appear only with particular sources, displays, refresh rates, or HDMI modes.

Processor Freezing or Boot Failure

XMC-2, RMC-1, RMC-1L, and related processors may hang at startup, remain on a "Please Wait" screen, boot extremely slowly, or become unresponsive to controls. Firmware corruption and processor/control-board faults are common areas of diagnosis.

HDMI Audio Pops, Ticks, and Dropouts

XMC-2 and RMC-series processors can produce ticks, pops, cracks, or brief interruptions when decoding certain HDMI sources. Emotiva support has acknowledged this behavior and released firmware/settings-based workarounds for affected configurations.

12-Volt Trigger Power Failure

BasX and other Emotiva amplifiers may fail to switch on reliably, unexpectedly turn off, or cycle when controlled through the 12-volt trigger input. Diagnosis typically involves the trigger-detection circuitry, cabling, source trigger voltage, or standby-control electronics.

Digital or USB Input Stops Working

DACs and processors such as the Stealth DC-1 can lose USB, S/PDIF, Toslink, or other digital-input functionality while analog functions remain operational. Persistent failure after eliminating drivers, cables, formats, and source configuration can indicate input-interface or digital-board failure.

No Audio After Power-Up

Some Emotiva DACs, integrated amplifiers, and processors power on normally yet produce no output until they are power-cycled or restarted. Reports point toward muting/output-control circuits, relays, power-supply sequencing, firmware startup faults, or failed control electronics.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
