Embrava Pty Ltd is an Australian-founded workplace-technology OEM that develops connected hardware and software for office presence, desk booking, room scheduling, digital signage, and workplace utilization. Its best-known product family is Blynclight, a USB/RGB presence indicator that synchronizes with platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Slack, Webex, and contact-center systems to show whether a worker is available, busy, or on a call. The company has expanded beyond presence lights into products including Desk Sign, Room Sign, and Any Sign, positioning its hardware as part of a broader smart-workplace platform for hybrid offices, hot-desking, meeting spaces, and enterprise deployments.
Blynclight Standard, Plus, and Mini may fail to initialize or disappear after USB reconnection, docking, undocking, or system wake. Embrava has issued multiple software fixes specifically addressing USB hot-plug and device reinitialization problems.
Blynclight hardware may remain on the wrong color or fail to change when the user's Teams, Skype, Jabber, or other UC presence changes. The symptom is commonly associated with integration, application-state, or communication failures rather than failed LEDs.
Blynclight models can continue flashing after an event has ended or exhibit irregular/prolonged blinking. Embrava release notes document repeated fixes for intermittent flashes, prolonged blinking, and overlapping call/message alert behavior.
A Blynclight may stop responding after the host computer sleeps, resumes, docks, or undocks. Earlier Embrava releases specifically corrected sleep, docking, undocking, and reinitialization failures.
Desk Sign units may fail to establish or maintain communication with Embrava DMS over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Blocked ports, network configuration faults, or loss of connectivity can leave the unit unable to retrieve live workspace information.
A Desk Sign can boot but report that it cannot load its configuration, leaving the device unusable for normal booking functions. This commonly occurs when DMS communication fails or the unit is not correctly mapped to a workspace.
Desk Sign units may become unresponsive or require rebooting or restoration to factory settings to recover normal operation. Embrava provides dedicated reboot and factory-reset procedures as part of its troubleshooting documentation.
Desk Sign hardware may detect a badge incorrectly or return an unusable badge number when the RFID frequency, reader configuration, or decoding mask is incorrect. This prevents normal badge-based workspace check-in until the reader configuration is corrected.
The Blynclight Plus may fail to ring, stop ringing correctly, or provide expected call/message audio alerts because of application integration limitations or stale call state. Cisco desk-phone/Jabber configurations are specifically documented as capable of leaving Blynclight alerts flashing because call-answer or hang-up events are not received.
