Elmeco repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

End Use Segment

Elmeco S.r.l. is an Italian commercial beverage-equipment manufacturer specializing in machines for preparing and dispensing frozen and chilled drinks in the HoReCa/food-service sector. Founded in 1961 by Salvatore Cortese, whom the company credits with developing the first commercial granita/slush machine, Elmeco designs and manufactures equipment for granitas, slush drinks, frozen cocktails, cold creams, sorbets, coffee granita, smoothies, and related products. Its current equipment range includes machines such as First Class, Big Biz, B Large, Be Coffee, and Matrix, including electronically controlled and self-service connected dispensing systems. The company is particularly known for its patented frozen-beverage processing technology, commercial slush machines, and export-focused Made-in-Italy production.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Auger Gearmotor Failure

The auger motor may lock, stop turning, or develop damaged internal reduction gears, leaving the product unmixed and often preventing normal freezing. Elmeco troubleshooting documentation repeatedly identifies failed or seized gearmotors as a cause of non-operating augers.

Auger Drive Pin or Gear Breakage

Cotter/split pins and internal drive gears can break or strip when the auger experiences excessive load, particularly with overly dense or low-sugar mixtures. The result is a running machine with stationary or intermittently driven augers.

Worn Auger Gears and Skipping

The plastic horizontal and vertical auger gears can wear until their teeth skip, producing knocking, jumping, or unreliable rotation. Wear can be accelerated by excessive product density, insufficient lubrication, or improper auger spacing.

Tank Seal Leakage

A displaced, pinched, hardened, or worn tank gasket allows beverage or slush mixture to leak underneath the bowl and into the drip tray. Elmeco service instructions specifically call for inspection and periodic replacement of these seals.

Thermostat Probe Failure

A failed, disconnected, oxidized, or improperly positioned temperature probe can cause incorrect temperature sensing. Machines may consequently over-freeze until the augers jam, fail to cool correctly, or display thermostat-related diagnostic indications.

Refrigeration or Compressor Failure

A defective compressor, failed starting components, refrigerant loss, or related refrigeration fault can leave the machine running while the product remains liquid. This commonly presents as little or no cooling despite otherwise normal electrical and mechanical operation.

Condenser Overheating and Pressure Shutdown

Restricted airflow or a dirty condenser can raise internal temperature and refrigerant pressure until the machine enters protection mode and shuts down cooling. Elmeco specifically associates simultaneous warning LEDs and compressor interruption with this condition.

Electronic Control Board Failure

The electronic control module can fail outright or become damaged in conjunction with gearmotor or sensor faults, causing warning indications, loss of cooling control, or a completely inoperative machine. Elmeco troubleshooting procedures frequently isolate the control board when motors, sensors, and wiring test incorrectly.

Motor/Sensor Connector and Reader Failure

Oxidized connectors, damaged wiring, or failed magnetic/optical rotation readers can interrupt feedback between the auger motor and electronic board. Symptoms include motor alarms, flashing diagnostic LEDs, stopped augers, or a control board that enters protection mode.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
