ecobee Inc. repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

ecobee Inc. is a Canadian smart-home technology OEM founded in 2007 and best known as an early pioneer of the Wi-Fi smart thermostat. The company designs connected residential energy-management and home-monitoring hardware, with its current ecosystem centered on Smart Thermostat Premium, Enhanced and Essential models, room/occupancy sensors, door and window sensors, indoor cameras, and a wired video doorbell. Its products combine HVAC control, occupancy sensing, energy-management software and home-security functions through the ecobee platform. Since its acquisition by Generac, ecobee has increasingly served as a connected-home interface within Generac's broader residential energy ecosystem, integrating HVAC management with generators and other home-energy products. ecobee designs the technology while relying on contract manufacturing facilities in Malaysia for hardware production.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Wi-Fi Connectivity Failure

Thermostats, SmartCameras, and Smart Doorbell Cameras may repeatedly disconnect from Wi-Fi, appear offline in the ecobee app, or fail to reconnect without a reboot. Persistent cases can involve the device's wireless subsystem, although router configuration, signal quality, and ecobee service connectivity can produce similar symptoms.

Temperature Sensor Inaccuracy

Ecobee thermostats can develop temperature readings several degrees above or below the actual room temperature, causing premature or delayed HVAC operation. After installation conditions and wall-cavity airflow are ruled out, a drifting or defective internal temperature sensor may require calibration or thermostat replacement.

Humidity Sensor Inaccuracy

The thermostat's internal humidity sensor may consistently report relative humidity substantially higher or lower than independent hygrometers. Some reported deviations exceed the thermostat's available correction range, indicating possible sensor drift or failure rather than a minor calibration error.

SmartSensor Disconnect / Pairing Failure

Room SmartSensors can intermittently disconnect, repeatedly reconnect, or stop pairing with the thermostat despite battery replacement. Common hardware-related causes include depleted batteries, poor battery-terminal contact, RF communication problems, and failed sensor electronics.

Thermostat Power Cycling / Reboot Loop

Ecobee thermostats may repeatedly shut down, display a black screen, restart, and return to operation. Loss or instability of the 24-V HVAC supply is a frequent cause, while thermostat power circuitry or wiring faults should be considered after external power and HVAC safety-switch problems are eliminated.

Blank Screen / No Power

A thermostat may remain completely blank and unresponsive instead of completing its normal startup sequence. Typical causes include loss of 24-V power, C-wire or PEK connection problems, blown HVAC fuses, failed control-board power, or an internal thermostat power-supply fault.

Touchscreen Failure

Touch-enabled ecobee thermostats can develop intermittent, partially dead, or completely unresponsive touch input while the display itself remains illuminated. If cleaning and a power cycle do not restore operation, failure of the capacitive digitizer or its associated electronics is a likely hardware fault.

Doorbell Camera Offline / Video Failure

Smart Doorbell Camera units can repeatedly become unavailable, lose live video, or require a power cycle before video access returns. Reported cases include both connectivity-related failures and power/chime-adapter faults, so stable transformer output and network connectivity should be verified before condemning the camera.

Doorbell Chime / Power Adapter Failure

Smart Doorbell installations can lose normal chime operation or power delivery because of faults involving the chime adapter, transformer interface, or associated power circuitry. A failed adapter can leave the doorbell offline or improperly powered even when voltage is present at the upstream transformer.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
