Dynaudio repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Dynaudio is a Danish premium loudspeaker and audio-equipment manufacturer founded in 1977 and centered around its manufacturing and R&D operations in Skanderborg, Denmark. The company specializes in high-fidelity home loudspeakers, active and wireless speakers, professional studio monitors, automotive sound systems, and OEM/co-branded audio solutions. Dynaudio is particularly known for developing and manufacturing its own loudspeaker drivers—including its soft-dome tweeters and MSP-based woofers—rather than relying primarily on off-the-shelf transducers. Its products span Home Audio, Professional Audio, Automotive Audio, Lifestyle Audio, and custom-install applications, with an emphasis on high-end sound reproduction and substantial in-house engineering and manufacturing. Its Skanderborg complex also houses Dynaudio Labs and the large Jupiter acoustic measurement facility used for loudspeaker development and testing. CVR API

2 Most Seen Failures:

Amplifier Module Failure

Active Dynaudio speakers and studio monitors can develop failed internal amplifier modules, causing complete loss of audio, intermittent output, distortion, or failure to power normally. This affects active families including BM, Focus XD, Xeo, and other powered models.

Power Supply / No-Power Failure

Powered monitors and subwoofers can become completely dead due to failed power-supply circuitry, blown mains fuses, or faults within the amplifier/power module. Typical symptoms are no power LED, failure to start, or a unit that repeatedly shuts down.

Tweeter Failure / Loss of High Frequencies

Dynaudio tweeters can fail electrically or suffer diaphragm/voice-coil damage, producing no treble, substantially reduced high-frequency output, or distortion. Excessive amplifier clipping and voltage transients can contribute to driver damage.

Woofer / Midrange Driver Failure

Woofer and midrange drivers can develop damaged voice coils, open circuits, rubbing coils, or other mechanical/electrical failures. Symptoms include missing bass or midrange output, buzzing, distortion, or abnormal noises at particular frequencies.

Wireless Audio Dropouts / Communication Failure

Xeo and Focus XD systems can experience loss of communication between speakers or between the speakers and Hub/Connect hardware, resulting in intermittent audio, one silent speaker, clicking, or repeated dropouts. Faults can involve the wireless transmitter/receiver hardware, although RF interference and configuration should be ruled out first.

Crossover Network Failure

Passive Dynaudio speakers can develop faults in their crossover boards from aged or damaged capacitors, resistors, inductors, connections, or other components. This can cause a driver to stop playing, incorrect frequency balance, reduced output, or distortion.

Thermal Shutdown / Overheating

Powered Dynaudio monitors can enter protection when their amplifier electronics overheat, causing audio to suddenly stop and the fault indicator to illuminate. Persistent thermal faults can indicate problems within the amplifier module or power electronics rather than inadequate ventilation alone.

Intermittent or Failed Input / Terminal Connections

Input connectors and passive-speaker terminal assemblies can develop damaged contacts, solder joints, or connection failures. Common symptoms include intermittent audio, crackling when the cable or connector is moved, loss of one channel, or complete loss of signal.

Digital Control / DSP / Firmware Failure

Digitally controlled Dynaudio models such as Xeo, Focus XD, Music, and certain newer active products can exhibit boot, DSP, control, or firmware-related faults that leave the speaker muted, unresponsive, incorrectly paired, or unable to communicate with its companion speaker. Resetting or updating firmware can recover software-related cases, while persistent symptoms can indicate failed digital/control electronics.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
