DVEO repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

DVEO (DVEO Computer Modules, Inc.) is a U.S. professional video and broadcast technology OEM specializing in hardware and software for video encoding, transcoding, decoding, streaming, playout, signal distribution, monitoring, and IP-based broadcast workflows. Its product portfolio includes rack-mounted encoders/transcoders, IP-to-SDI decoders, streaming appliances, playout servers, multiplexing and ad-insertion systems, professional IRDs, IPTV/OTT infrastructure, FAST-channel solutions, RF/video-analysis equipment, and increasingly cloud and AI-assisted video-processing systems. The company traces its technology history to the early 1980s, later becoming active in DVB-ASI broadcast hardware before shifting heavily toward video-over-IP beginning around 2007. DVEO primarily serves broadcasters, cable operators, telecom providers, IPTV/OTT services, content owners, CDNs, and other professional video-distribution environments, and says approximately 40% of its products are shipped outside the United States.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Power Supply Failure

DVEO rackmount encoders, decoders, transcoders, and streaming appliances can develop failed or unstable power supplies, resulting in no power, spontaneous shutdowns, reboot loops, or failure to boot. PSU assemblies are among the replacement parts DVEO specifically supplies.

Cooling Fan Failure / Overheating

Failed case or CPU fans and restricted airflow can cause excessive internal temperatures, instability, throttling, freezing, or unexpected shutdowns during continuous broadcast operation. DVEO specifically stocks both case fans and CPU fans as service parts.

Hard Drive / SSD Failure

Storage-equipped DVEO streaming, playout, transcoding, and server appliances can suffer HDD or SSD degradation, producing boot failures, corrupted recordings, stalled services, or inaccessible media. Both hard drives and SSDs are stocked by DVEO as replacement components.

SDI / ASI Interface Failure

DVEO and legacy Linsys SDI/ASI interfaces can develop loss of input/output, intermittent signal lock, increasing latency, synchronization problems, or complete port failure. Aging connectors, interface electronics, ESD/electrical stress, and board-level faults are common repair targets in broadcast I/O hardware.

System Will Not Boot

DVEO appliances may power up but fail to complete POST or load their operating environment because of PSU, motherboard, storage, memory, or other internal hardware faults. DVEO specifically identifies a system that “won’t boot” as a hardware problem handled by its repair service.

Memory / RAM Failure

Defective or unstable system memory can cause crashes, boot failures, freezes, corrupted processing, or intermittent instability in DVEO's PC/server-based encoding and transcoding platforms. Memory modules are specifically listed among DVEO's stocked replacement parts.

Video Input / Signal Lock Failure

Encoders such as the Futura and related DVEO platforms may fail to detect or maintain an SDI, HDMI, component, or composite input, leaving the unit with no picture/audio or intermittent video. The failure can originate in connectors, receiver circuitry, input cards, or associated signal-processing electronics.

Ethernet / Network Interface Failure

DVEO IP encoders, decoders, gateways, and streaming appliances can develop unstable or dead Ethernet interfaces, causing dropped streams, loss of management access, link failures, or severe packet loss. Faults may involve the RJ45 connector, Ethernet PHY, NIC, magnetics, or motherboard interface circuitry.

Encoder / Processing Board Failure

DVEO encoding hardware can develop faults in the codec, FPGA, capture, or main processing circuitry, resulting in frozen video, missing output streams, encoding errors, A/V synchronization problems, or an otherwise powered unit that cannot process video. Legacy DVEO/Linsys hardware has also been documented with latency and lip-sync issues associated with its SDI processing hardware.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
