Dracast repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Dracast is a professional LED video and studio lighting manufacturer/brand established around 2010 and operated under Draco Broadcast. It develops lighting equipment for cinematography, broadcast television, photography, news production, studios, and location work. Its catalog centers on LED panel lights, Fresnel fixtures, soft lights, space lights, on-camera lights, RGB/RGBWW fixtures, and multi-light production kits, with major families including the Pro, Plus, X, Kala, and Fresnel lines. The brand is particularly known for high-output, color-accurate LED fixtures designed as comparatively accessible alternatives to traditional professional film and broadcast lighting systems. Dracast states that its products are used in television studios, feature-film production, news crews, and home studios.

2 Most Seen Failures:

LED Flickering / Output Pulsing

Light output flickers, pulses, or varies in intensity, sometimes only becoming visible on recorded footage at particular shutter speeds. Reported causes include unstable power delivery, driver/control circuitry faults, loose connections, low battery voltage, and synchronization behavior.

Partial LED Array Failure

One section, bank, or color group of LEDs stops illuminating while the remainder of the fixture continues operating. Reports include panels arriving with roughly one-third of the LED array inoperative and older fixtures losing an entire daylight or tungsten LED channel.

Power Supply / AC Adapter Failure

The fixture intermittently shuts down or fails to power on because of problems with the external AC-to-DC supply, controller, cable, or associated power circuitry. Some Dracast power supplies have also been reported to run extremely hot, with cable and internal connection failures occurring after continued use.

Loose or Failed Power Connector

Power input sockets, plugs, or their internal wiring loosen or disconnect, resulting in intermittent power or complete loss of operation. Kala Plus and Fresnel reports include loose power ports, disconnected wiring, and soldered power connections failing under mechanical strain.

Dimmer / Control Knob Failure

Brightness or color-temperature controls become rough, bind mechanically, respond inconsistently, or stop controlling the fixture. Dracast troubleshooting information specifically identifies faulty or stuck controls as a cause of lost brightness or CCT adjustment.

Overheating / Thermal Shutdown

The light begins blinking, becomes unstable, or shuts itself off after operating for an extended period or at high output. Some Dracast models incorporate thermal protection that can shut the fixture down when internal temperatures remain excessive.

Battery Plate / Battery Connection Failure

V-Mount, Gold Mount, or NP-F battery interfaces can develop mechanical or electrical connection problems that cause intermittent operation or prevent battery-powered use. Some Plus-series hardware has also been reported with brittle battery-mount structures pulling away from the fixture housing.

Mounting Yoke / Thread Failure

Yoke hardware, stand receivers, locking screws, or mounting threads loosen, strip, crack, or cease holding the fixture securely. Reports particularly identify soft metal, plastic threads, and stressed mounting components as durability weaknesses on some Dracast fixtures.

LCD / Control Electronics Failure

Rear displays become incomplete, lose their backlight, or stop responding, and internal control-board faults can leave the fixture powered but uncontrollable or completely nonfunctional. Dracast's DRX troubleshooting documentation identifies damaged LCD assemblies and circuit boards as faults requiring hardware repair.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
