Glen Dimplex Americas (GDAM) is the North American manufacturing and operating division of Ireland-based Glen Dimplex Group, focused primarily on residential and commercial electric heating and comfort products. Its major brands include Dimplex, Cadet, and Convectair, covering electric baseboard and wall heaters, thermostats and temperature controls, electric fireplaces, and related heating/comfort equipment. The company is particularly known for energy-efficient electric heating and electric fireplace technology. Its London, Ontario factory manufactures heating solutions, including products such as baseboard heaters, while its Cadet operation manufactures electric heaters in Vancouver, Washington.

2 Most Seen Failures:

[Overheating / Thermal Cutout Trips]

[The heater shuts down after a short period because restricted airflow, dust buildup, blocked vents, or a faulty thermal limit causes the overheat protection to activate. The unit may require cooling or a manual/power reset before heat returns.]

[Fan / Blower Motor Failure]

[The blower fails to start, runs intermittently, becomes noisy, or stops moving sufficient air through the heater. Failed or obstructed fans can cause poor heating and repeated overheating shutdowns.]

[Heating Element / Heater Assembly Failure]

[The fan operates but the unit produces little or no heat because the heating element or complete heater assembly has failed. Some models may also produce abnormal noise or persistent odor when the heater assembly deteriorates.]

[Thermostat / Temperature Sensor Failure]

[The heater cycles incorrectly, fails to start, will not shut off, or displays a temperature-related fault because of a defective thermostat or thermistor. Incorrect temperature sensing can prevent normal regulation of the heating element.]

[Flame Flicker Motor Failure]

[Electric-fireplace flames become frozen, jerky, or stop moving when the flicker motor or its mechanical connection fails. Replacement of the flicker motor or correction of the flicker-rod connection is commonly specified in service troubleshooting.]

[Flame / Ember LED Failure]

[The fireplace operates but the flame or media-bed illumination becomes dim, partially illuminated, or completely invisible because bulbs, LED strips, or LED assemblies have failed. The affected lighting component generally requires replacement.]

[Remote Control / Receiver Failure]

[The fireplace does not respond reliably to its handheld remote because of depleted batteries, lost synchronization, a failed remote, receiver, or IR sensor. Reinitialization may restore operation, while defective receiver components require replacement.]

[Main Control Board / User-Control Failure]

[The unit may fail to power up or respond to commands even when incoming power is present because the main control board, touch pad, switch, or related electronic control has failed. Service documentation commonly resolves these faults by replacing the affected control component.]

[Power Supply / Wiring Connection Failure]

[The heater or fireplace fails to operate, heats weakly, or behaves incorrectly because of missing power, loose connections, incorrect supply voltage, or improper wiring. This is particularly significant on 240-volt heaters, where an incorrect supply connection can leave the unit barely warm or nonfunctional.]

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
