DiGiGrid repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

DiGiGrid is a professional-audio hardware OEM created through a collaboration between Waves Audio and DiGiCo to bring Waves' SoundGrid networking and real-time DSP technology into studio, live-sound and broadcast workflows. The company makes advanced networked audio interfaces, MADI-to-SoundGrid interfaces, DSP servers, Pro Tools connectivity hardware and desktop audio interfaces. Its products connect DAWs, mixing consoles, I/O hardware and processing servers over Ethernet, enabling high-channel-count recording and low-latency real-time plugin processing. DiGiGrid is particularly known for its MGB/MGO/MGR MADI interfaces, SoundGrid-based networking, high-quality mic preamps and interfaces used in professional studio, touring and broadcast systems.

2 Most Seen Failures:

SoundGrid Network Not Recognized

The DiGiGrid unit powers on but is not detected by SoundGrid Studio/MultiRack, often showing a red network-status LED. Ethernet connectivity, network-adapter configuration, cabling, or device firmware can prevent discovery.

Firmware Update / Boot Failure

The unit fails to boot correctly or disappears from the SoundGrid inventory after an unsuccessful firmware update. A white status LED can indicate a malfunction or firmware-load/boot failure, with affected models providing a hardware reset/force-update recovery procedure.

Audio Dropouts / Complete Loss of Audio

Audio intermittently cuts out even though the interface remains connected, sometimes requiring a device power cycle or host restart. Driver/OS compatibility, network configuration, buffer settings, or SoundGrid communication problems can produce this symptom.

Distorted / Corrupted Audio

Output becomes heavily distorted, unclear, clicking, or otherwise corrupted despite previously operating normally. Reported causes include driver/OS issues, synchronization problems, inappropriate buffer configuration, and DSP overload.

Clock / Synchronization Failure

The interface fails to lock correctly to SoundGrid Sync-over-Ethernet, Word Clock, MADI, AES/SPDIF, or another selected clock source. Loss or mismatch of synchronization can result in clicks, corrupted audio, dropouts, or no usable audio.

No Output Despite Active Routing

The device appears online and routing appears valid, but no audio reaches the analog or headphone outputs. SoundGrid driver configuration, routing, server requirements, and unsupported network-buffer settings can all create an apparently functional system with silent outputs.

DSP Server Overload / Audio Failure

IOS/IOS-XL and DLS systems can reach the processing limit of their internal SoundGrid server under sufficiently heavy plugin loads. At or beyond the available DSP capacity, playback can exhibit clicks, dropouts, corruption, or stop operating fluently.

Power / Startup Failure

The interface does not start normally, repeatedly fails during startup, or requires power cycling before returning to operation. External-adapter-powered models such as MGB/MGO add the power adapter and its connection as additional points of failure.

MADI / Digital I/O Signal Loss

MGB/MGO and other digitally connected DiGiGrid models can be visible on the SoundGrid network while failing to pass the expected MADI, AES, ADAT, or S/PDIF audio. Cable/transceiver problems, digital-format configuration, clocking, or loss of synchronization are common fault domains when the network side remains operational.

1 Acme Revival offers repair, service, and part rebuild opportunities for most DiGiGrid devices.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
