Datapath repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Datapath Limited is a UK-based OEM specializing in professional video processing, multi-display, video-wall, and control-room technology. Founded in 1982, the company designs and manufactures hardware and software used to capture, process, distribute, and display high-resolution video across multiple screens. Its portfolio includes video-wall controllers, graphics/display cards, video-capture cards, AV-over-IP equipment, video processors, and control-room management solutions such as Aetria. Datapath is particularly known for multi-screen and mission-critical visualization systems deployed in professional AV, command-and-control/security environments, as well as military, healthcare and education applications. The company sells internationally to customers in more than 100 countries and has joined VITEC, expanding the combined companies' video and AV technology offering. Datapath Manufacturing-location confidence: High. Unlike companies that merely have a corporate address in Derby, Datapath explicitly says it designs and builds all hardware and software in-house at its UK headquarters, making Derby, Derbyshire the supported manufacturing location rather than simply its HQ location.

2 Most Seen Failures:

[Intermittent or Lost Input Signal]

Video input periodically drops out or disappears completely. Datapath documentation associates this particularly with incompatible link rates, excessive cable lengths, poor connections, or source-to-device signal problems.

[No Signal / Output Loss]

One or more displays report "No Signal" or stop displaying video despite the system being powered. Causes documented across Datapath hardware include loss of source signal, cabling/connection faults, and PCIe configuration issues on certain graphics hardware.

[Display Flickering or Unstable Output]

Connected displays flicker, periodically blank, or otherwise produce an unstable image. Documented causes include HDCP negotiation problems and PCIe Spread Spectrum incompatibility, particularly at high resolutions on Image4K hardware.

[EDID / Display Detection Failure]

The Datapath device or source fails to correctly identify the attached display's supported resolution, timing, or capabilities. Invalid or unreadable EDID information can result in incorrect display modes, absent video, or require reconnecting the video cable to force EDID detection.

[Network Connection / Device Discovery Failure]

Network-controlled Datapath hardware cannot be discovered or communication with the unit times out. Incorrect or missing IP configuration, DHCP/static-address configuration, and other network connectivity problems are documented causes.

[Firmware / Upgrade State Failure]

The hardware remains in an abnormal startup state, such as continuously flashing front-panel LEDs, or does not operate normally because its firmware requires updating. Datapath documentation specifically identifies persistent flashing LEDs on Fx4-series hardware as an indication that an upgrade is required.

Captured or decoded video exhibits artifacts, corruption, dropped frames, or stuttering rather than clean playback. On network-video hardware such as ActiveSQX, Datapath identifies packet loss, jitter, unsupported streams, and decoding problems as common causes.

[PCIe / Expansion Card Compatibility Failure]

An installed Datapath graphics or capture card produces unstable output or conflicts with other system hardware. Documented examples include Image4K malfunction when PCIe Spread Spectrum is enabled and onboard HDMI becoming unavailable when VisionSD8 cards are installed in certain VSN systems.

[Thermal / Ventilation Failure]

Restricted airflow can cause excessive operating temperatures and eventual hardware damage or unreliable operation. Datapath specifically warns that ventilation openings must remain clear and that blocked airflow can damage Fx4 hardware.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
