No Power / Power Supply Failure
Unit will not power on, intermittently shuts down, or remains stuck in standby. Common hardware causes include failed power-supply capacitors, rectifiers, regulators, fuses, or standby-power circuitry.
Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.
Curtis International Ltd. is a Canadian consumer-electronics and home-appliance manufacturer, brand licensee, importer, and distributor established in 1991. Its portfolio is heavily focused on value-oriented household products, including refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, microwaves, dishwashers, washers and dryers, water dispensers, small kitchen appliances, televisions, projectors, and audio equipment. Curtis sells products under its own Curtis name and develops/manufactures products under licensed brands including Frigidaire, Hamilton Beach, Magnavox, Arctic Chef, Proscan, RCA, and others, as well as private-label programs for major retailers. Its current catalog contains hundreds of appliance and electronics SKUs, with particularly substantial refrigeration and cooling lines.
Unit will not power on, intermittently shuts down, or remains stuck in standby. Common hardware causes include failed power-supply capacitors, rectifiers, regulators, fuses, or standby-power circuitry.
Television powers up but produces no visible image, or the screen intermittently goes black. Likely faults include LED backlight failure, backlight driver problems, power-rail faults, T-CON failure, or main-board video circuitry.
Device operates and may display a normal picture but produces no audio or intermittent/distorted sound. Failures can originate in the audio amplifier IC, speakers, power rails, connectors, or main-board audio circuitry.
DVD-equipped Curtis models may reject discs, fail to initialize playback, freeze, skip, or display disc errors. Common hardware suspects include a weak/dirty optical pickup, spindle motor, sled mechanism, loader assembly, or optical-drive electronics.
Display remains operational but exhibits noise, distortion, unstable images, lines, abnormal brightness, or degraded picture quality. Potential causes include failing panel electronics, T-CON circuitry, signal-processing components, power instability, or internal cable connections.
Picture displays incorrect colors, monochrome output, color distortion, or intermittent color loss. Likely hardware faults include video-processing circuitry, T-CON/panel connections, damaged video connectors, or main-board signal-path problems.
Television or DVD player stops responding reliably to an otherwise functional remote control. Beyond batteries or obstruction, common service faults include the IR receiver module, front control board, damaged connections, or main-board control circuitry.
Unit freezes, becomes unresponsive, unexpectedly resets, or requires unplugging before normal operation returns. Power-supply instability, deteriorated capacitors, regulator faults, overheating components, or main-board logic problems are typical hardware causes.
Disc tray or internal DVD mechanism fails to load, eject, spin, or correctly position a disc. Typical causes include worn loading belts/gears, failed loading or spindle motors, limit switches, optical sled problems, or mechanical misalignment.
