Cuebi repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Cuebi is a Dutch professional broadcast-electronics brand specializing in compact wireless tally systems for television, streaming, live production, and multicamera video workflows. Its principal product is the Cuebi Light, a miniature Wi-Fi/IP tally indicator that mounts directly to a camera and communicates with production switchers without requiring a dedicated base station. Cuebi supports systems including Blackmagic Design ATEM, NewTek TriCaster, vMix, Roland, Ross Video, Panasonic, Streamstar, and equipment supporting TSL UMD protocols. Its product ecosystem also includes Big Light tally indicators, viewfinder lights, external-trigger interfaces, and D-Tap power adapters. Cuebi is principally known for making tally indication unusually small, portable and straightforward for professional and semi-professional multicamera production environments.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Intermittent Wi-Fi Connection

Cuebi Lights can repeatedly disconnect, lag, or fail to maintain communication with the switcher when the 2.4 GHz network is congested or suffers RF interference. Poor access-point placement, physical obstructions, and crowded channels are common contributors.

Switcher Connection Failure

The Cuebi Light connects to Wi-Fi but remains purple and fails to establish communication with the ATEM or other supported switcher. Incorrect switcher IP settings, network configuration problems, protocol compatibility, or unstable connectivity can cause this condition.

No Power / Unexpected Shutdown

The Cuebi Light may fail to start or unexpectedly switch off because of inadequate USB power, a faulty cable or connector, or an incompatible power bank. Cuebi specifically warns that some power banks shut themselves off because the Light's approximately 80 mA load is too low to keep their output active.

Micro-USB Power Connector Failure

Repeated plugging, cable strain, and camera-mounted operation can wear or loosen the Cuebi Light's micro-USB power connection. This can produce intermittent power, spontaneous resets, or a completely dead unit even when the external supply is functional.

Wi-Fi Module / RF Failure

A Cuebi Light may remain searching for the wireless network or experience abnormally poor range despite correct configuration. Failure or degradation of the onboard Wi-Fi circuitry or antenna path can prevent reliable 2.4 GHz communication.

Tally LED Failure

The RGB tally indicator can become dim, intermittent, stuck on one color, or completely inoperative. Failure of the RGB LED or its driver circuitry prevents correct red program, green preview, and blue/purple connection-state indication.

External Trigger Output Failure

The external tally output can stop operating attached Viewfinder Lights, Big Lights, or camera tally inputs even though the Cuebi Light itself continues functioning. Common hardware suspects include connector damage, broken solder joints, damaged output-driver components, or cable-related electrical stress.

Firmware / Configuration Failure

A Cuebi Light can fail to operate correctly after corrupted settings, incompatible configuration, or an interrupted firmware/configuration process. Symptoms can include failure to join Wi-Fi, inability to communicate with the switcher, or incorrect tally behavior despite otherwise functional hardware.

Power Regulation / Logic Board Failure

Failure of the internal 5 V input protection, voltage-regulation circuitry, microcontroller, or associated board components can leave the Cuebi Light dead, unstable, or continuously resetting. This becomes the likely hardware-level fault after the USB supply, cable, network configuration, and external power source have been verified.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
