Crestron repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

End Use Segment

Crestron Electronics is a privately held American manufacturer specializing in professional audiovisual, automation, control, and smart-building technology for commercial and high-end residential environments. Founded in 1972, the company develops integrated control processors, touch panels, AV-over-IP and video distribution equipment, conferencing and collaboration systems, audio products, lighting controls, motorized shading systems, room-scheduling hardware, networked control equipment, and Crestron Home automation products. Its systems are commonly deployed in corporate meeting rooms, universities, hospitality facilities, government installations, auditoriums, and luxury residences, where Crestron hardware and software provide centralized control of displays, audio, lighting, HVAC, shades, conferencing, and other building technologies. Crestron emphasizes vertically integrated engineering, manufacturing and product testing and says many of its products are manufactured in the United States.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Power Supply Failure

Internal and external power supplies can deteriorate until the device will not power on, repeatedly reboots, or shuts down under load. DMPS processors, DM/RMC endpoints, and older control hardware are commonly associated with this symptom.

HDMI / DigitalMedia Signal Loss

DM switchers, transmitters, receivers, and DMPS units can lose video output, intermittently display black screens, or fail to maintain HDMI synchronization. Aging HDMI/DM interface circuitry, failed ports, and signal-path hardware are frequent suspects after cabling and configuration are eliminated.

Ethernet / Network Interface Failure

Crestron processors and DMPS hardware can develop failed LAN interfaces that show no link lights or cease network communication entirely. Affected equipment may continue to power up while becoming unreachable through Toolbox, control networks, or connected endpoints.

Touch Panel Boot Failure

TSW, TSS, TST, and related touch panels can become stuck at the Crestron logo, continuously reboot, or fail to complete startup. Storage degradation, power instability, and internal electronics faults can eventually require recovery or hardware replacement.

Touchscreen False or Unresponsive Touch

Touch panels may develop phantom presses, erratic touch detection, dead areas, or inaccurate response to user input. Crestron documentation recognizes erratic and calibration-related touch behavior across several touch-panel families.

Thermal Shutdown / Overheating

DMPS units, amplifiers, dimmers, and other rack-mounted Crestron equipment can become unstable or shut down when internal temperatures rise excessively. Restricted airflow, aging cooling components, excessive load, or heat-damaged electronics can cause intermittent operation that returns after cooling.

Cresnet Power / Communication Failure

Insufficient or unstable 24 VDC Cresnet power can cause keypads, modules, sensors, and processors to disappear intermittently or behave unpredictably. Aging power supplies, excessive network loading, shorts, and wiring faults commonly produce widespread communication symptoms.

Amplifier Output Stage Failure

Crestron amplifiers can lose one or more audio channels, enter protection, produce distorted audio, or shut down because of overcurrent or output-stage faults. Shorted speaker wiring can trigger protection, while a permanently shorted output FET or damaged amplifier circuitry generally requires service.

Touchscreen Display Degradation

Crestron touch panels can develop image retention, uneven brightness, persistent screen artifacts, or deteriorated LCD/backlight performance as the display ages. Severe cases leave the interface readable only intermittently or require complete display/panel replacement.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
