Craftbot repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Craftbot is a Hungarian additive-manufacturing OEM that develops and manufactures FFF/FDM 3D printers and supporting 3D-printing technology. Its product range spans compact desktop printers through larger professional and industrial machines, including single-extruder and independent-dual-extruder (IDEX) systems. The company also develops its own firmware and CraftWare slicing software and supplies filaments and related ecosystem products. Craftbot targets professional, industrial, educational, medical, prototyping, and small-batch manufacturing applications and is particularly known for its robust plug-and-play desktop printers, large-build-volume systems, and Flow-series IDEX machines.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Clogged Nozzle / Hotend

Filament becomes lodged in the nozzle or hotend, causing little or no material to extrude. Craftbot identifies extruder clogging as the most common printing problem, often occurring after filament changes, improper loading temperatures, or accumulated material.

Extruder Filament Feed Failure

The extruder drive gear may slip, become packed with filament debris, loosen on its shaft, or grind the filament instead of feeding it. The result is under-extrusion, clicking or grinding noises, or complete loss of filament output.

Filament Monitoring System Errors

Craftbot FLOW-series printers can report filament-flow errors even when filament is present, particularly when extrusion becomes inconsistent or flexible material stretches through the sensor. Incorrect extruder tension, calibration problems, clogs, or sensor inaccuracies can repeatedly interrupt prints.

Bed Leveling / Z-Offset Failure

An incorrectly leveled build plate or inaccurate nozzle-to-bed offset causes poor first layers, nozzle scraping, or prints that fail to adhere. FLOW models additionally depend on mesh leveling and BL-Touch measurements, so probe or calibration problems can cause recurring leveling errors.

BL-Touch Probe Damage or Malfunction

The BL-Touch leveling probe pin used on many Craftbot FLOW models can become bent or broken, preventing reliable automatic bed measurements. A damaged or inaccurate probe can cause incorrect Z compensation and failed first layers.

Layer Shifting / Motion Belt Problems

Loose, stretched, or worn X/Y belts can allow the print head to lose positional accuracy, producing visibly shifted layers. Severe motion problems may also produce grinding or growling noises and can involve pulleys, stepper motors, or motor-driver faults.

Hotend Heating / Temperature Sensor Failure

Failures in heater wiring, thermistors, connectors, or temperature-sensing circuitry can prevent the hotend from reaching or maintaining the commanded temperature. Craftbot firmware updates have specifically addressed temperature-sensor stability, while field reports also document broken hotend heater wiring.

Heat Creep / Extruder Jamming

Excessive heat traveling upward through the hotend can soften filament before it reaches the melt zone, causing the filament to swell or jam. This is especially problematic during long prints or dual-extruder tool changes and may cause the extruder gear to grind into the filament.

Touchscreen / HMI Freezing or Display Failure

Craftbot printers can develop touchscreen calibration, visibility, freezing, or boot/interface problems that prevent normal printer control. Support documentation includes touchscreen calibration procedures, while reported cases include Craftbot Plus Pro units freezing after firmware updates and FLOW interfaces failing to load.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
