COROS repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

COROS is a sports-technology and wearable-electronics manufacturer focused primarily on endurance athletes and outdoor recreation. The company develops GPS sport watches—including the PACE, APEX, VERTIX, and NOMAD families—along with the DURA GPS bike computer, heart-rate monitors, running sensors, and associated COROS app, mapping, navigation, and training-analysis software. COROS emphasizes accurate GPS/GNSS tracking, unusually long battery life, lightweight hardware, navigation and mapping, and sports-science-based training metrics for running, trail running, climbing, cycling, swimming, and other endurance activities. Although COROS Wearables, Inc. maintains its U.S. corporate presence in Irvine, California, its manufacturing roots and major technical operations are in Dongguan, Guangdong, China. Regulatory records directly identify a Dongguan COROS entity and factory at Songshan Lake, providing considerably stronger evidence for the manufacturing location than simply using COROS's U.S. mailing address. The brand is particularly known for competing in the performance GPS-watch market through long GPS battery life, precise satellite positioning, lightweight designs, training analytics, and outdoor navigation, rather than positioning itself primarily as a general-purpose smartwatch company. COROS describes its mission as combining advanced technology with sports science to develop training products for endurance sports and navigation/tracking tools for outdoor users.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Rapid Battery Drain

Battery life suddenly becomes much shorter than expected, sometimes dropping from a full charge to empty within hours or a few days. Reports occur across PACE, APEX, and other COROS watches and may result from battery degradation, firmware behavior, sensor activity, or battery-management faults.

Digital Crown / Dial Failure

The Digital Dial becomes unresponsive, intermittently stops scrolling, or registers presses without rotational input. Some affected watches temporarily recover after restarting or charging before the control stops responding again.

Charging / Power-On Failure

The watch intermittently or completely refuses to charge, remains on a black screen, or will not power on even when connected to a charger. Common causes include contaminated or degraded charging contacts, charging-cable/contact problems, deeply discharged batteries, and internal power-system faults.

GPS Acquisition Failure

The watch takes unusually long to acquire satellites, repeatedly loses its GPS fix, or fails to establish GPS positioning altogether. COROS has documented GPS failures associated with satellite-data and firmware problems, while persistent cases can also involve GNSS hardware or antenna faults.

Optical Heart-Rate Sensor Failure

The rear optical sensor stops detecting heart rate, produces no readings during workouts, or records erratic and implausible values. Failures may be intermittent and software-related, but persistent loss of sensor operation can indicate failure of the optical sensor or associated electronics.

Display / Screen Failure

The display becomes blank, frozen, partially unresponsive, or fails to illuminate even though the watch may still vibrate or otherwise remain powered. Reported cases include watches developing screen problems alongside rapid battery drain or other internal hardware failures.

Button / Back Button Failure

Physical buttons stop registering presses, respond intermittently, or become unusable while other watch functions remain operational. The problem can prevent users from navigating menus, ending workouts, or performing a normal restart.

Watch Freezing / Unexpected Restarting

The watch becomes stuck on a screen, experiences severe interface lag, spontaneously reboots, or becomes completely unresponsive during normal use or workouts. Some units recover after a forced restart, while recurring freezing can precede a more complete hardware or power failure.

Battery Percentage / Calibration Failure

The displayed charge level becomes inaccurate, falls abruptly, remains stuck, or causes the watch to shut down while apparently showing remaining capacity. COROS specifically provides a battery-calibration procedure for this condition, although persistent symptoms after calibration may indicate battery or power-management hardware deterioration.

1 Acme Revival offers repair, service, and part rebuild opportunities for most COROS devices.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
