Comprehensive connectivity repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Comprehensive Connectivity Company is a U.S. professional AV, IT, networking and connectivity equipment manufacturer founded in 1974 and based in Fairfield, New Jersey. Originally known particularly for professional cable products, the company has expanded into a broad connectivity portfolio including HDMI, USB/USB-C and Ethernet cables, bulk cable and connectors, adapters, video switchers and splitters, scalers, AV/data extenders, encoders and decoders, docking and charging products, HDBaseT and AVoIP solutions, and related installation hardware. Its products are primarily aimed at commercial AV integrators, IT departments, education, corporate, government and other professional installations rather than the mass-market consumer electronics segment. Comprehensive emphasizes professional-grade reliability, long-term warranties, custom connectivity solutions and TAA-compliant products, including selected products manufactured and tested in the United States.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Intermittent Connector Contact

HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB connectors can develop intermittent electrical contact from repeated insertion, connector wear, contamination, or mechanical stress. Symptoms include signal dropouts, flickering video, intermittent USB enumeration, or complete loss of connection.

Cable Conductor Breakage

Internal copper conductors can fracture after repeated bending, crushing, pulling, or tight-radius installation, particularly near connector strain-relief points. The cable may work only when positioned at a certain angle or fail completely.

HDMI Video Dropouts or No Signal

HDMI cables may develop unstable or absent video because of damaged conductors, connector contacts, shielding problems, or inadequate signal integrity at high bandwidth. Failures are often more noticeable with 4K/60Hz, HDR, or other bandwidth-intensive signals.

Active Cable Electronics Failure

Long active HDMI cables and other electronically assisted cable assemblies can fail when their integrated transmitter, receiver, equalizer, or signal-conditioning circuitry deteriorates. The result is typically no image, intermittent synchronization, or operation only at lower resolutions.

USB-C Data or Charging Failure

USB-C cables and adapters can lose data transfer, video output, or charging functionality because of connector wear, broken conductors, or failure of embedded electronics. Affected devices may repeatedly connect and disconnect or operate only in basic USB modes.

DisplayPort-to-HDMI Adapter Failure

Active DisplayPort adapters can stop converting the source signal when their internal conversion circuitry fails. Common symptoms include a blank display, intermittent picture, incorrect resolution detection, or failure to establish an HDMI connection.

Ethernet Link Intermittency

Category patch cables can develop open conductors, damaged twisted pairs, or poor RJ45 termination after repeated flexing or connector stress. This can produce complete link loss, intermittent network connectivity, or negotiation at a lower Ethernet speed.

HDMI Handshake / EDID Failure

Switchers, extenders, adapters, and HDMI conversion products can experience EDID or HDCP communication failures that prevent the source and display from establishing a usable link. Symptoms include black screens, repeated signal cycling, incorrect resolution, or video appearing only after reconnecting equipment.

Switcher or Extender Port Failure

HDMI/USB-C matrix switchers, HDBaseT extenders, and similar powered Comprehensive hardware can develop failed input/output ports, power circuitry, or interface electronics. Affected units may lose individual ports, stop passing video or USB data, or fail to power up entirely.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
  2. 2 Per information known, researched and collected by Acme Revival and its systems at time of page publishing (September 24, 2026).
