CommScope repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

CommScope is a major telecommunications and network-infrastructure manufacturer specializing in the physical connectivity systems used to build broadband, data-center, enterprise, campus and communications networks. Its product portfolio includes fiber-optic and copper cabling, coaxial cable, fiber cable assemblies, connectors, terminals, splice closures, distribution frames, fiber panels and modules, cabinets, cable-management systems and other passive network infrastructure. The company is particularly well known for large-scale fiber and structured-cabling systems used by telecom carriers, broadband providers, hyperscale and enterprise data centers, and commercial facilities. Following the restructuring and sale of several former CommScope businesses, the CommScope brand is now part of Amphenol, with its current focus centered on Broadband, Data Center, and Building & Campus connectivity solutions.

2 Most Seen Failures:

PoE Module Failure

PoE circuitry in CommScope RUCKUS ICX switches can fail on individual ports or entire port groups, leaving connected access points, cameras, or phones without power. Fault logs may report failed PoE devices, module initialization failures, or severe hardware faults requiring repair or replacement.

Power Supply Failure

ICX switches can develop failed or unstable internal or removable power supplies, resulting in complete power loss, unexpected shutdowns, or loss of available PoE capacity. Higher-power PoE models are particularly dependent on healthy PSU output to maintain both switching and powered-device operation.

Boot Failure After Power Interruption

RUCKUS ICX switches, particularly the ICX 7150-C12P, can become stuck in boot mode following a power outage, surge, or abnormal restart. The switch may show an amber SYST LED, fail to provide network connectivity, and stop delivering PoE even though its power indicator remains active.

PoE Disabled After Reboot

Some ICX switches can restart with PoE functionality disabled, causing every attached access point or other powered device to remain off despite otherwise normal switch status LEDs. This behavior is especially documented on ICX 7150-C12P units running older firmware.

Ethernet Port Failure

Individual Ethernet interfaces can stop establishing links, intermittently drop connectivity, or fail to provide PoE while the remainder of the switch continues operating. Failures can originate from damaged PHY/interface circuitry, PoE hardware, electrical events, or degraded port components.

Access Point Power Failure

CommScope RUCKUS access points may fail to power up or repeatedly lose power because of inadequate PoE delivery, damaged Ethernet/power circuitry, or an upstream ICX PoE fault. Affected APs commonly remain completely dark or stall during their power-on sequence.

Access Point Rebooting and Crashing

RUCKUS access points can experience repeated watchdog resets, kernel panics, unexpected power cycles, or application crashes that interrupt wireless service. Persistent rebooting can produce sudden client disconnections and unstable network performance.

Cooling Fan Failure

Fan assemblies in actively cooled ICX switch models can fail or operate below their required speed, triggering hardware alarms and reducing cooling capacity. Continued operation with inadequate airflow can cause elevated internal temperatures and eventually lead to shutdowns or component degradation.

Thermal Overheating Failure

CommScope switches and access points can develop excessive internal temperatures from fan failure, restricted airflow, environmental heat, or heavily loaded power circuitry. Temperature-threshold alarms may precede instability, unexpected resets, shutdowns, or accelerated failure of power and board-level components.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
