CODA Audio repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

CODA Audio is a German professional sound-system manufacturer specializing in high-performance loudspeaker and sound-reinforcement systems for concerts, touring productions, theaters, venues, houses of worship, corporate installations, and other professional AV applications. Its portfolio includes line-array systems such as AiRAY, CiRAY, ViRAY, N-RAY and TiRAY, point-source and installation loudspeakers, subwoofers, LINUS DSP amplifiers, system processing, and immersive-audio products. A distinguishing feature of CODA is its unusually high level of vertical integration: the company says it manufactures drivers, hardware, enclosures, crossovers, and other electronics internally rather than relying extensively on third-party components. Its Sofia manufacturing operations produce core components including transducers, voice coils, electronics, mechanics, and finished loudspeaker systems. CODA is particularly known in the professional-audio market for its patented driver technologies, compact high-output loudspeaker designs, low-distortion sound reinforcement, and tightly integrated amplifier/DSP/loudspeaker ecosystems.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Amplifier No Audio Output

LINUS DSP amplifiers can develop a no-output condition affecting one or more channels, including documented cases where analog input audio is not passed to the output section. Causes can include firmware incompatibility, input/routing faults, DSP issues, or amplifier-stage failure.

Power Amplifier DC Protection Fault

LINUS amplifiers can enter protection when persistent DC voltage is detected at an output. CODA identifies the output stage, driver stage, or amplifier input circuitry as possible sources of the DC condition, with repeated detection eventually producing a permanent error state.

Loudspeaker Driver Failure

CODA loudspeakers can suffer failed LF, MF, or coaxial drivers, producing missing output, reduced level, distortion, rubbing, or buzzing. CODA's service documentation specifically provides replacement drivers and recommends sweep testing to identify failed or mechanically compromised transducers.

High-Frequency Driver / Diaphragm Failure

High-frequency sections can lose output or become distorted following thermal or electrical stress to the compression-driver/diaphragm assembly. The symptom is typically dull or incomplete reproduction, severe HF distortion, or an otherwise functioning cabinet with little or no high-frequency output.

Amplifier Overheating / Thermal Limiting

LINUS amplifiers can thermally limit when internal temperatures become excessive, reducing available system power to protect the SMPS and amplifier electronics. Cooling-fan problems, obstructed airflow, dust accumulation, sustained high output, or elevated ambient temperature can contribute to recurring thermal problems.

SMPS / Power-Supply Failure

LINUS hardware relies on high-power switch-mode power supplies, and power-stage or SMPS faults can result in failure to start, shutdown, repeated restart attempts, or loss of amplifier output. CODA's protection architecture can also deliberately shut the SMPS down when potentially damaging amplifier conditions are detected.

Network / LINUS Control Communication Failure

LINUS amplifiers can experience Ethernet/control communication or monitoring problems that leave units offline, incorrectly represented, or unable to respond normally to remote commands. CODA has documented multiple control, monitoring, front-panel indication, and state-recall issues across LINUS generations.

Firmware / Boot Failure

LINUS amplifiers can exhibit startup problems after firmware-related faults or incompatible firmware installation, including a documented LINUS6.4 condition involving no audio and a black display after a quick reboot. Certain later LINUS14/14D and LINUS12C hardware revisions also cannot safely operate firmware older than CODA's specified minimum versions.

Crossover / Internal Connection Failure

Passive CODA loudspeakers can develop crossover-network, connector-plate, wiring, or connection faults that cause a driver section to become intermittent, distorted, or completely silent even when the transducer remains functional. CODA identifies crossover networks and connector plates as replaceable service assemblies on applicable models such as the HOPS8T.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
