Clear-Com repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Clear-Com LLC is a U.S. communications-equipment OEM and an HME company specializing in professional, real-time voice communication systems. Founded in 1968, the company is particularly known for pioneering portable intercom technology for live production and for its long-standing presence in broadcast and entertainment communications. Its product portfolio includes wired and wireless intercom systems, digital matrix intercoms, partyline systems, wireless beltpacks, keypanels, IP interfaces, and networked/virtual communication platforms. These systems allow production crews and other operational teams to communicate reliably with low latency in environments where continuous coordination is critical, including television and broadcast facilities, theaters, concerts and live events, sports productions, industrial sites, and military/aerospace operations. Clear-Com's manufacturing operation is based in Carlsbad, California, while its Americas/APAC corporate headquarters is in Alameda, California.

2 Most Seen Failures:

[Power Supply / Power Circuit Failure]

Main stations, power supplies, and beltpacks may fail to power up, shut down unexpectedly, or enter overload protection. Documented causes include internal PSU faults, excessive connected load, defective power circuitry, and poor power connections.

[Battery / Charging Failure]

Wireless beltpacks can fail to charge, incorrectly report battery capacity, or fail to operate from rechargeable battery packs. Documented examples include failed BAT60 batteries, defective CellCom charging jacks, poor battery-sled contacts, and internal Tempest battery-power circuitry failures.

[Headset / Audio Connector Failure]

A beltpack or station may power and communicate with the system while producing no microphone or earpiece audio. Common hardware-related causes include defective or poorly seated headset connections, incompatible headset wiring, damaged connectors, or incorrect headset detection.

[Intercom Line Short Circuit]

Damaged cables, connectors, or attached devices can short a partyline or HelixNet Powerline, causing loss of communications and fault indications. HelixNet specifically identifies a blinking red line indicator and periodically flashing Talk keys as symptoms associated with line/cable short circuits.

[Intermittent Beltpack Power Connection]

Beltpacks can operate intermittently because battery contacts or battery sleds no longer maintain a reliable electrical connection. Clear-Com specifically documents WBS battery-sled contact problems producing repeated work/fail/work behavior.

[RF / Antenna Hardware Failure]

Wireless systems may experience loss of range, unreliable communication, or complete wireless failure when antennas or their RF connectors are damaged. Clear-Com documents broken N-type base-station antenna connectors among common WBS hardware faults, while wireless manuals also identify antenna and range issues during troubleshooting.

[No Audio / Failed Audio Path]

Beltpacks or stations can remain visible or registered to the system while transmit, receive, or both audio paths stop functioning. Clear-Com documents FreeSpeak II beltpacks exhibiting complete no-audio conditions that may require exchange or repair after configuration, headset, and firmware causes are eliminated.

[Partyline Overload / Shutdown]

Partyline power supplies can shut down when the connected equipment approaches or exceeds the supply's practical current capacity. Clear-Com documents PK-7 overload shutdowns and recommends maintaining substantial power-supply headroom rather than operating continuously near maximum rated capacity.

[Physical Connector / Internal Switch Damage]

Drops, repeated cable handling, and mechanical wear can damage external connectors or move/damage internal hardware. Clear-Com specifically documents broken RF connectors and displaced internal transmitter switches in wireless base stations, producing loss of transmit or wireless operation.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
