Claypaky repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Claypaky is an Italian OEM specializing in professional entertainment and architectural lighting equipment, particularly technologically advanced lighting fixtures used for concerts, touring productions, theaters, television studios, live events, and other professional entertainment environments. Its portfolio is centered on automated/moving-head luminaires, spot and wash fixtures, effects projectors, LED-based fixtures, and related professional lighting systems. The company is particularly known within the entertainment-lighting industry for high-performance moving lights, optical systems, special effects, and Italian-designed professional fixtures; several of its product families have become established products in theatrical and live-event lighting. Claypaky maintains in-house R&D and manufacturing capabilities at its Bergamo-area operation and emphasizes Italian design and production as a core part of its product strategy.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Lamp / Light Source Failure

The discharge lamp, LED engine, or associated ignition components fail or degrade, causing no output, intermittent striking, reduced brightness, or abnormal color. Lamp exhaustion and defective lamps are repeatedly identified in Claypaky troubleshooting documentation.

Pan / Tilt Motor or Positioning Failure

Pan or tilt movement becomes erratic, stalls, loses position, or fails calibration. Common fault areas include the stepper motors, position sensing/encoder components, mechanical drive system, and associated motor-control electronics.

Power Supply / Power Board Failure

The fixture fails to power on, resets unexpectedly, or has partially non-operational electronics because of a power-supply or power-board fault. Power-stage failures can also prevent individual subsystems such as motors or the light source from operating.

Cooling Fan / Overheating Failure

Cooling fans become obstructed, worn, or electrically defective, resulting in excessive internal temperature, thermal shutdown, or intermittent operation. Claypaky fixtures incorporate thermal protection that can interrupt operation when overheating or cooling-system failure is detected.

DMX / Communication Failure

The fixture stops responding correctly to control data because of faulty DMX cabling, connectors, input electronics, addressing, or control-board problems. Symptoms include complete loss of control, intermittent communication, or individual fixtures behaving incorrectly on an otherwise functional network.

Gobo / Prism / Effects Mechanism Failure

Gobo wheels, prisms, shutters, focus assemblies, or other motorized optical effects become stuck, misaligned, noisy, or unable to initialize. Mechanical wear, motor/drive faults, calibration errors, and contamination can prevent these assemblies from reaching their commanded positions.

Main Control / Electronic Circuit Failure

Internal control electronics develop faults that leave the fixture completely or partially non-operational despite correct external power and control signals. Depending on the affected board or circuit, symptoms can include failed initialization, dead functions, resets, or multiple simultaneous errors.

Optical Contamination / Reduced Output

Dust, grease, haze residue, and other deposits accumulate on lenses, reflectors, filters, and internal optical components, progressively reducing brightness and image quality. Claypaky specifically prescribes periodic cleaning of components exposed to dust and grease to maintain performance.

Lens / Reflector / Optical Component Damage

Lenses, reflectors, filters, or other optical components become cracked, broken, heat-damaged, or misaligned, producing defective projection or reduced output. Claypaky troubleshooting documentation identifies broken lenses or reflectors as a cause of defective projection requiring service.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
