Paper becomes stuck, feeds incorrectly, or cannot be transported through the printer. Common causes include improperly loaded media, obstructions in the paper path, dirty or deformed platen components, and incorrect media setup.
The automatic cutter becomes jammed, remains out of its home position, or fails to operate. Paper scraps, foreign objects, or a mechanical cutter failure can prevent the blade from moving and trigger a cutter error.
Printed output appears faint, dirty, smudged, uneven, or otherwise degraded. Typical causes include contamination of the thermal head or platen, incorrect ribbon installation, unsuitable print settings, or deterioration of printing components.
The print head develops damaged or open heater elements, often producing persistent vertical white lines or missing portions of an image. Cleaning may resolve contamination-related symptoms, but a damaged thermal head generally requires replacement.
The thermal print head exceeds its permitted operating temperature and the printer temporarily stops printing. Dense graphics, heavy black printing, prolonged continuous operation, and high ambient temperatures can trigger this condition.
The printer cannot correctly detect label gaps, black marks, paper position, or the presence of media. Incorrect sensor positioning, sensitivity settings, media type configuration, or unsuitable media can cause paper-load and positioning errors.
Printing progressively shifts or appears in the wrong position on labels or media. Incorrectly loaded media, dirty or deformed platen components, sensor calibration problems, or incorrect printer/host settings are common causes.
The printer fails to power up or reports abnormal supply voltage. Causes can include disconnected or damaged power cables and adapters, low- or high-voltage conditions, or an internal power/system fault.
The printer receives incomplete, duplicated, corrupted, or no print data from the host system. Interface configuration problems, serial framing/parity errors, receive-buffer overruns, cabling/network issues, or incorrect host settings can prevent normal printing.
