Screen becomes blank, dim, partially visible, or develops missing segments while the device otherwise appears operational. Aging LCD connections, damaged display ribbons, impact damage, failing backlights, or display-driver circuitry are common hardware-level causes.
Power, mode, tempo, calibration, or navigation controls stop responding or require excessive pressure. Worn tactile switches, contaminated contacts, damaged potentiometers/encoders, cracked solder joints, and control-board failures are typical causes.
Metronome clicks, reference tones, or other audio become weak, distorted, intermittent, or completely silent. Failures commonly involve the miniature speaker, headphone/output jack contacts, volume control, amplifier stage, or associated solder connections.
Instrument, pickup, headphone, or pass-through connections become intermittent or stop working when cables are moved. Repeated insertion stress can wear jack contacts or crack the jack's PCB solder joints, resulting in signal loss or unreliable operation.
Digital Cherub models may freeze, stop responding to controls, or require a reset before normal operation resumes. Cherub specifically provides a hardware reset procedure on models such as the WMT-565C for situations where the product crashes.
Rechargeable models may stop charging, discharge unusually quickly, or operate only while connected to external power. Likely faults include worn lithium cells, damaged USB charging ports, failed charging circuitry, connector damage, or battery-protection faults.
