Chauvet repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Chauvet & Sons, LLC is a privately held American professional lighting manufacturer founded in 1989 and best known for LED-based entertainment, stage, touring, architectural, broadcast, and event-lighting systems. Its principal product families include moving-head fixtures, LED washes and pars, theatrical ellipsoidals and Fresnels, strobes/blinders, battery-powered wireless fixtures, atmospheric effects, video/display products, and lighting-control equipment. The wider Chauvet organization operates brands including CHAUVET Professional, CHAUVET DJ, Kino Flo, ChamSys, and LynTec, giving it coverage from mobile-DJ and event lighting through high-end touring, theater, cinema/broadcast lighting, control consoles, and power-control systems. Chauvet specifically highlights its early adoption of LED technology in entertainment lighting and today positions itself as a complete professional ecosystem spanning lighting, video, control, power, and atmospheric effects.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Power Supply / No-Power Failure

Fixture will not power on, powers intermittently, or dies completely due to a failed internal switching power supply, blown fuse, damaged power input, power switch, or associated power circuitry. Internal PSU failure is repeatedly identified in CHAUVET troubleshooting documentation.

LED Engine / LED Module Failure

One or more LEDs stop illuminating, become unusually dim, flicker, or develop incorrect color output. Common hardware causes include failed LED emitters, LED modules, damaged connections, or deterioration of the high-power LED assembly.

LED Driver Failure

Fixture powers and its controls may operate normally, but the LED source remains dark, flickers, or individual LED channels fail. CHAUVET documentation specifically identifies failed LED-driver electronics as a cause of both LED-output and cooling-related faults.

Pan/Tilt Motor or Belt Failure

Moving-head fixtures develop jerky movement, fail to pan or tilt, lose positioning, or make grinding noises during initialization. Common causes include failed stepper motors, stretched or broken drive belts, position sensors, and X/Y motor-control electronics.

DMX Interface / Control Board Failure

Fixture works locally but fails to respond to DMX, responds intermittently, or loses communication despite known-good cabling and addressing. Hardware faults can involve the DMX input circuitry, display/control board, damaged connectors, transceiver circuitry, or main PCB.

Cooling Fan / Thermal Shutdown Failure

Cooling fans become noisy, slow, intermittent, or stop completely, causing elevated temperatures and possible automatic shutdown. CHAUVET documentation identifies failed head/base fans and related driver or power circuitry as causes of cooling-system faults.

Color / Gobo / Prism Mechanism Failure

Color wheels, gobo wheels, or prisms become stuck, fail to index, produce positioning errors, or make repetitive clicking during startup. Typical causes include failed stepper motors, broken or slipping belts, obstructed mechanisms, defective sensor boards, and optical/magnetic position sensors.

Main Control PCB Failure

Fixture powers up but exhibits multiple abnormal functions such as missing light output, failed controls, incorrect initialization, or communication problems. CHAUVET troubleshooting literature identifies faulty main, display, and X/Y control PCBs as potential causes when individual peripherals are otherwise functional.

Optical Output / Dimming Failure

Fixture produces little or no usable light despite appearing powered and operational. Depending on the model, common hardware causes include failed LED/lamp sources, LED drivers, deteriorated optical components, lamp assemblies, or slip-ring/brush contact problems.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
