Cerevo repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Cerevo Inc. is a Japanese fabless electronics manufacturer founded in 2008 that specializes in niche, Internet-connected hardware and professional audiovisual products. Its best-known product family is LiveShell, a line of standalone live-streaming encoders that has shipped more than 50,000 units worldwide; the company also develops FlexTally wireless tally systems, smart toys and character electronics such as DOMINATOR and Tachikoma, IoT devices, and historically smart-sports products under the XON brand. Cerevo handles product planning, electronics/software development, manufacturing management and sales while relying on external manufacturing partners, historically centered around Shenzhen and the wider Guangdong manufacturing ecosystem. It also operates an ODM/contract-development business, designing and manufacturing electronics, audiovisual equipment, communications equipment and IoT devices for outside clients.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Power-On / Startup Failure

Cerevo LiveShell-series units may fail to power on, freeze during startup, or hang indefinitely at the Cerevo/LiveShell logo. Persistent cases can indicate power-supply, battery, power-management, storage, or main-board faults when a forced shutdown and restart do not restore operation.

HDMI Input / No Video Failure

LiveShell X and related streaming hardware may stop recognizing an HDMI source, display an HDMI error, or produce no video despite otherwise operating normally. After cables, HDCP, resolution, and source compatibility are eliminated, the HDMI input connector, receiver circuitry, or associated main-board electronics become likely hardware suspects.

Network / Ethernet Connection Failure

LiveShell and other network-dependent Cerevo products can fail to establish a wired connection, generating DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, or offline errors. Persistent failures across known-good networks can point toward the Ethernet interface, PHY circuitry, connector, or main-board network subsystem.

Wi-Fi Connection Failure

LiveShell hardware can repeatedly fail to associate with wireless networks or display a Wi-Fi error despite valid network credentials. Once firmware, router, and configuration problems are excluded, the wireless module, antenna connection, RF circuitry, or main board may require diagnosis.

System Lockup / Unresponsive Controls

LiveShell units can freeze during operation and stop responding to their physical buttons, sometimes requiring a forced shutdown. Repeated lockups after firmware and configuration issues are eliminated can indicate unstable power rails, storage corruption, thermal problems, or main-board failure.

LCD / Display Failure

LiveShell hardware can power up with the display backlight illuminated while producing no usable LCD image. This symptom can result from the LCD module or its interconnect, display-power circuitry, or a main-board fault preventing proper display initialization.

Video Interference / Unstable HDMI Capture

LiveShell streaming devices can produce corrupted, intermittent, unstable, or otherwise degraded video even though an HDMI signal is detected. Known-good sources and cables should be verified first; persistent hardware cases may involve the HDMI connector, receiver IC, signal-path components, or processing board.

Audio Input / Distorted or Missing Audio

Cerevo streaming hardware may produce missing, intermittent, noisy, or distorted broadcast audio. If source equipment, cables, firmware, and streaming services are ruled out, the line-input connector, HDMI audio path, codec circuitry, or main-board audio section should be inspected.

FlexTally Station / Lamp Communication Failure

FlexTally systems can fail to discover the Station Unit, communicate with supported switchers, or illuminate tally lamps correctly. Configuration and firmware are frequent causes, but persistent faults can involve Ethernet/GPIO interfaces, lamp-unit connections, station electronics, or power circuitry.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
