Canon repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

End Use Segment

Canon Inc. is a Japanese multinational OEM specializing in imaging, printing, optical, medical, and industrial technologies. It is particularly known for EOS digital cameras and interchangeable lenses, inkjet and laser printers, multifunction office equipment, commercial printing systems, and professional imaging products. Canon also manufactures medical equipment, semiconductor and flat-panel-display lithography equipment, semiconductor devices, and other precision optical/industrial systems. Its manufacturing footprint includes Canon-owned plants and manufacturing subsidiaries across Japan and internationally.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Printhead / B200 Failure

Canon inkjet printers may display B200 when an internal printer or printhead-related fault requires service. The printer can stop printing entirely and Canon generally directs users to power it off and contact a service center.

Paper Feed / Jam Failure

Paper can jam or fail to feed correctly because of obstructed paper paths, foreign objects, or feed-mechanism problems. These faults can prevent printing and may also restrict movement of the printhead carriage.

Carriage Movement / Error 5100

The printhead or cartridge carriage can become obstructed by jammed paper, foreign material, protective material, or problems detecting carriage position. Canon commonly associates this condition with support code 5100.

Ink Absorber Full

The waste-ink absorber gradually fills as ink is deposited during cleaning and normal printer operation. Codes in the 5B00 family can eventually stop operation and require servicing of the printer.

Clogged Printhead Nozzles

Inkjet printhead nozzles can become clogged, producing missing colors, streaks, poor print quality, or failed printhead alignment. Canon troubleshooting procedures commonly use nozzle checks and printhead cleaning to identify and address this condition.

Ink Cartridge Recognition Failure

Canon printers can fail to recognize an installed ink tank or FINE cartridge, generating cartridge-recognition support codes. The fault may prevent normal printing even when a cartridge is physically installed.

Camera Shutter / Mechanical Failure

EOS cameras can report Err 20 for mechanical-mechanism faults and Err 30 for shutter-related faults. Persistent occurrences can prevent shooting and may require service.

Camera-to-Lens Communication Failure

EOS bodies can display Err 01 when electrical communication between the camera and attached lens fails. Dirty or faulty electrical contacts, the lens, or the camera-side interface can interrupt normal autofocus, aperture, or shooting operation.

Camera Power / Electronic Control Failure

EOS cameras can report errors associated with the power source or internal electronic-control system, including Err 40, Err 50, and Err 80 on supported models. Persistent faults may prevent shooting or normal camera operation and require professional service.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
