Canary Connect repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Canary Connect, Inc. is a smart-home security and Internet of Things company known for app-connected residential security cameras and monitoring services. Its product line has included the Canary Pro, Canary View, and Canary Flex, combining HD video cameras with features such as night vision, motion detection, two-way audio, sirens, environmental sensing, cloud video storage, mobile alerts, and professional monitoring services. The company built its brand around providing an integrated DIY home-monitoring system controlled through the Canary mobile app. Canary historically designed its products in New York while using contract manufacturing in China and Vietnam. In March 2026, Arlo Technologies acquired Canary's assets, describing Canary as an IoT company that designs and sells smart-home security devices and SaaS solutions.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Intermittent Wi-Fi / Offline Failure

Canary Pro, View, and Flex units may repeatedly lose their network or cloud connection and appear offline despite otherwise functioning Wi-Fi. Symptoms include yellow/red status lights, random disconnections, and loss of remote camera access.

Rapid Battery Drain

Canary Flex batteries may discharge much faster than expected, in severe cases lasting only days rather than the expected extended operating period. Heavy motion recording, night vision, weak Wi-Fi, low temperatures, and repeated reconnection attempts can accelerate the problem.

Battery Charging Failure / Slow Charging

Canary Flex may charge unusually slowly, stop charging at a partial percentage, or fail to charge altogether. Recurring causes include damaged or recessed charging-connector pins, loose cable connections, inadequate input voltage, defective adapters, and cable problems.

Power-On / Unresponsive Device Failure

A Canary device may become unresponsive, fail to turn on, or show no status light despite being connected to power. Flex documentation specifically provides a hard-reset procedure for units that fail to turn on, turn off, or otherwise respond.

Boot-Up Freeze / Boot Loop

Canary hardware can become stuck during startup, remaining indefinitely on a white boot-status indication instead of reaching normal operation. Persistent boot states generally require a power cycle or hard reset and can leave the camera inaccessible.

Firmware Update Failure

Firmware installation can fail and leave a Canary device offline or unable to complete startup. Canary Flex identifies this condition with a solid-red light pattern, while independent testing of Canary Pro has also reported crashes during firmware updates.

Night-Vision / IR-Cut Filter Failure

Canary cameras may fail to enter or exit night vision correctly, or the mechanical IR-cut filter may become stuck. Affected video can remain in night mode or develop a pink/purple appearance during daylight, sometimes requiring recalibration, resetting, or physical dislodging of the filter.

Setup / Pairing Failure

Canary Pro, View, and Flex can fail during initial setup or when being re-paired to a network, particularly during Bluetooth/Wi-Fi pairing or required firmware downloads. The device may remain in pairing mode, return to its pre-setup state, or repeatedly require the setup process to be restarted.

Motion Detection Failure / False Triggering

Canary cameras can miss expected activity or generate unwanted motion events depending on placement, lighting, reflections, PIR behavior, and environmental conditions. Flex is particularly susceptible to missed detection when operating through glass, while reflections and unsuitable placement can produce missed or false activity events.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
