Camfil is a Swedish manufacturer specializing in commercial and industrial air-filtration and air-pollution-control systems. Founded in Trosa, Sweden in 1963, the company develops and manufactures air filters and clean-air solutions used to remove particulate, molecular and other airborne contaminants from buildings and industrial processes. Its portfolio spans HVAC/comfort air filters, HEPA and high-efficiency filtration, molecular filtration, cleanroom and life-science filtration, dust/fume collection, and air-inlet filtration for turbomachinery and power-generation applications. Camfil is particularly known for high-efficiency filtration technology, filter testing and R&D, and energy-efficient filtration designed to protect people, sensitive manufacturing processes and equipment. The company operates approximately 30 manufacturing sites globally, with its major Tech Centre and longstanding production operations located in Trosa, Sweden.
Filter cartridges become loaded, blocked, moisture-damaged, or reach the end of their service life, producing excessive pressure drop and reduced airflow. Heavy dust loading can cause cartridges to require replacement earlier than their nominal service interval.
Pulse valves may stop operating, close slowly, or make abnormal noises because of contaminated compressed air, damaged diaphragms, blocked bleed holes, or pilot-valve problems. The resulting loss of effective filter cleaning contributes to rising pressure drop and reduced airflow.
Fan bearings can wear or fail prematurely, particularly when lubrication is incorrect or inadequate. Typical symptoms include abnormal fan noise, vibration, and deterioration in fan operation.
A damaged, unbalanced, misaligned, or contacting fan wheel can create vibration, abnormal noise, and impaired airflow. In some cases the impeller can contact the fan inlet and require adjustment, balancing, repair, or replacement.
Control boards, relays, motor starters, fuses, breakers, or associated electrical components can fail and prevent normal equipment or cleaning-system operation. Some Camfil units can show fan power while the control interface itself remains inactive.
Leaks can occur at compressed-air connections, drain valves, diaphragms, or other pneumatic components. Persistent hissing and loss of cleaning pressure are common symptoms and can degrade pulse-cleaning performance.
Worn, damaged, or insufficiently compressed door gaskets and poorly sealed housing joints can allow unwanted air leakage. Camfil documentation calls for inspection and adjustment of gasket compression and replacement or resealing of defective components.
Dust accumulation can obstruct hopper gates, rotary airlocks, screw conveyors, or discharge containers and prevent collected material from leaving the unit correctly. Excessive accumulation can restrict collector performance and contribute to abnormal mechanical noise or wear.
Bolts, screws, flanges, belts, couplings, suspension hardware, and other mechanical connections can loosen, wear, become misaligned, or sustain damage. These faults commonly manifest as vibration, resonance, abnormal noise, leakage, or improper alignment of major components.
