Audio Partnership plc is a British consumer-audio OEM and the owner/operator of Cambridge Audio, a hi-fi brand whose origins date to 1968; Audio Partnership itself was incorporated in 1994. The company develops premium home-audio electronics, with product engineering and design centered in the UK and production carried out through manufacturing partners in Asia, particularly China. Its products span amplifiers, music streamers/network players, DACs, CD equipment, turntables, speakers and personal-audio products. Cambridge Audio is particularly associated with enthusiast and premium hi-fi equipment, combining traditional stereo amplification with modern digital and network-audio technologies. Audio Partnership has maintained its own engineering, quality-control and production-engineering capabilities while working with external factories and technology suppliers.
The unit powers on normally but produces no audio from one or both channels. Recurring causes include amplifier output-stage faults, protection-relay problems, failed digital audio circuitry, and input/output connection faults.
The unit will not power on, shuts down unexpectedly, or powers up intermittently. Reported causes range from power-supply and fuse faults to internal protection circuitry or component failures.
Network players and streaming products fail to connect to Wi-Fi, disappear from the StreamMagic app, or repeatedly lose their network connection. Problems can involve the streaming/network module, firmware, Wi-Fi hardware, DHCP configuration, or network compatibility.
Audio intermittently cuts out, pauses, or loses the stream during network playback. Cambridge Audio troubleshooting repeatedly associates this symptom with unstable network connections, Wi-Fi interference, network extenders or switches, and streaming-platform issues.
CD players and transports fail to recognise or play inserted discs. The symptom can result from disc compatibility or condition, but persistent hardware cases can involve the optical pickup, servo, transport mechanism, or associated electronics.
The product outputs distortion, static, white noise, crackling, or otherwise inconsistent audio. Reported hardware causes include amplifier output-stage problems, bias faults, DAC/digital circuitry failures, and defective signal-path components.
Amplifiers enter protection, flash warning indicators, mute their outputs, or shut down during operation. Cambridge Audio protection systems can trigger because of overheating, clipping, short circuits, excessive current, or DC appearing at the amplifier output.
USB, optical, coaxial, or other digital inputs fail to produce audio or are no longer recognised. Persistent hardware cases can involve DAC circuitry, digital receiver/input components, USB interfaces, or failed regulators supplying the digital section.
The front display becomes blank, partially fails, freezes, or front-panel controls stop responding. Reported cases include failed display/control electronics and faults affecting the circuitry responsible for display, key scanning, or input selection.
