Calibrite repair, service, and parts

Acme Revival is an independent repair network that operates separately from the manufacturers whose devices we service. Our independence enables a repair model that exists beyond manufacturer-controlled strategies, while preserving the ability to work with manufacturers where appropriate.

Calibrite LLC is a privately held color-management company serving professional photographers, filmmakers, designers, and content creators. Formed in 2020/2021 to carry forward X-Rite's photo and video color-management business, Calibrite licenses X-Rite's core color technology while X-Rite serves as its manufacturing partner. Its product portfolio centers on ColorChecker-branded display colorimeters, spectrophotometer-based profiling tools, camera/color reference targets, and associated calibration software used to achieve consistent and accurate color across cameras, monitors, projectors, scanners, and printers. The company is particularly known for the ColorChecker family and display-calibration devices descended from X-Rite's established i1Display/i1Studio product lines.

2 Most Seen Failures:

Device Not Detected / USB Connection Failure

ColorChecker Display, Display Pro/Plus, Studio, and related models may fail to appear as connected or active despite being plugged in. Recurring causes include device-service/driver failures and USB 2.0 hardware having connectivity problems through certain USB 3.x ports or hubs.

Calibration Freezes or Hangs During Measurement

Display-series instruments can stall during profiling, sometimes leaving the screen flashing between black and white patches without measurements progressing. Calibrite identifies Automatic Display Control communication as a recurring trigger for this behavior.

ColorChecker Studio Self-Calibration Failure

ColorChecker Studio units may repeatedly request calibration, hang after calibration, or report a dial position that does not correspond with the physical position of the device. Persistent dial-position mismatches after software reinstallation can indicate a hardware fault.

Display Not Found

ColorChecker Display, Display Pro/Plus, and Studio hardware can be recognized while the software nevertheless reports that no display can be found for profiling. Graphics-driver and operating-system display-detection problems are commonly associated with this failure mode.

Inconsistent or Incorrect Color Measurements

Calibration can produce visibly incorrect color, white-point, or gamut results when the instrument/software uses the wrong display backlight technology correction. Differences between instruments and incorrect measurement configuration can consequently produce substantially different profiles on the same display.

Dark or Oversaturated Results After Calibration

A successfully generated monitor profile can produce images that appear excessively dark or saturated in some applications. This is particularly associated with ICC-profile compatibility and applications that do not fully support the generated color-management profile.

PROFILER Fails to Start With Device Workflow

Calibrite PROFILER can remain indefinitely on its pulsating startup screen or fail to initialize the calibration workflow. Background X-Rite/Calibrite services and certain multi-monitor configurations are documented triggers, effectively preventing use of the attached calibration hardware.

ColorChecker Studio Printer Profile Produces Incorrect Output

ColorChecker Studio printer profiles can produce prints that remain too dark, saturated, or visibly different from the calibrated display. Printer-driver color-management behavior can interfere with the Studio measurement/profile workflow even when the generated profile itself appears to complete successfully.

Device Becomes Unresponsive After Detection

PROFILER may detect a connected Calibrite instrument but show it as inactive, or recognize a newly connected device that subsequently stops responding correctly. Calibrite's release notes also document cases in which PROFILER failed to redetect a Studio instrument following an error.

Connect with a technician.

  1. 1 Repairs are performed on a best-effort basis. Acme Revival utilizes a network of sophisticated technicians and engineers with diverse service offerings; despite this, factors that influence the repair outcome may ultimately prove unsuccessful. Acme Revival makes no claim that it can, guarantee a repair before your device is sent in for diagnostic evaluation; even then, repair and diagnostic work are not mutually exclusive. Despite well-intentioned quoting, repairs may still prove unsuccessful.
